If Obama put Morsi in, he took him out, along with the "the big man" Mohammed Badie .

Intelligent people know what to do at all times!

That wasn't obama, that was the Egyptians throwing obama's allies out on their ass.

Egypt is throwing obama out on his ass too.

Morsi was elected to office. A mistake by the Egyption people, and deposed from office by a military coup. None of this is due to American influence. We would rather have seen a moderate leader elected, would have rather seen Morsi deposed by parliamentary action than military. But the decisions made in Egypt, or most other natons, are not ours to make. It is not a good situation from any point of view.

True.

But you know of course, this thread is an attempt to balance the half dozen tea party threads now active on this Board that continually fault Obama for the chaos and bloodshed in Egypt.

You know we've rattled their cages when their personal insults reach a fever pitch.

:)

:lmao:

Obama helped put Morsi and the MB into office by demanding Mubarak step aside. An ally for decades was thrown to the wolves so Obama et al could have their "Arab Spring".

He backs the terrorist MB and he and the other idiots in Washington are backing the Syrian rebels who are affiliated with AQ.

Fact.

Deal with it drivebymedia. Too funny that you would try to give credit to Obama over the Egyptian Military.

What a douche!

obama fully supported Morsi. He fully supported the cannibalistic terrorists in Syria. Now he's trying to distance himself from that support.

Obama ducks criticism of his support of Muslim Brotherhood Morsi with lies

A lie is a lie in any language. A lie is a lie in any country.

And on today’s political front there is no bigger liar than President Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama, who reiterated only yesterday that the U.S. is not aligned with and is not supporting any particular political party or group while condemning the ongoing violence across Egypt, is lying and his condemnation of the violence merely the far away mewlings of a paper tiger.

Obama gave Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi $250-million only last March 5th. Obama also gave Morsi 200 Abrams tanks and 12 F-16s delivered in 2013 with the promise of another eight by the end of this year.

That’s hardcore support of the Muslim Brotherhood of which Morsi is a member in good standing.

Of course obama would support the muslim brotherhood, he has brotherhood in his own administration!

The middle east is having none of it. obama threatened to withhold 1.3 billion in aid, to the Egyptian military, and other middle eastern countries stepped up with financial assistance ranging from 3 billion from Kuwait to five billion from Saudi Arabia. We have no leverage in the middle east. They are intending to throw obama and the United States out on our collective asses. We have no more influence in the world. obama is no longer leader of the free world, the free world has been tossed.

If we had backed Mubarak or at very least not made the public declaration he must go maybe the violence in Egypt would not be happening now.

Republicans and their extremists do like these strong-armed dictators, don't they?

Democratic leaders are tough to put in their back pocket!

It seems almost too arrogant to comprehend to assume that the US is even powerful enough to create something like the Arab Spring. The Arab Spring was a long time coming, and isn't something that should be blamed on the US no matter who is president.

He backs the terrorist MB and he and the other idiots in Washington are backing the Syrian rebels who are affiliated with AQ.

1.) The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood isn't a terrorist organization, nor do we recognize it as such.

2.) We don't support the Al-Nusra Front in Syria, in fact we have them on our list of terrorist organizations which means we can't legally send them aid. Al Nusra hardly makes up a majority of rebels in Syria.

We gave military and financial aid to Mubarak as well and give aid and financial support to the Egyptian military as well. So the fact that we continued our official aid policies towards Egypt when Morsi was in power doesn't mean that we are die hard supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, that suggestion seems a bit silly honestly.

Also for the record, we should have continued aid to the Morsi government when we did. It was a democratically elected government, and Morsi had shown that he was willing to play ball with both us and Israel.

Do you have any supporting evidence of this? Our verbal declaration that he should step down was hardly the primary factor in his removal from office. It seems like a lot of people in here have forgotten that it was the Egyptian military who removed him from power and then ruled in Egypt for over a year before the Muslim Brotherhood took over in response to popular elections.

Obama said that the Muslim Brotherhood is a secular group, when did you change his mind?

Really?

Why don't you tell that to Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen A. Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods...

Better yet, explain it to their families...

You dumb fuck. Obama's own words. He demanded the Egyptian military return Morsi and the MB to power.

President Barack Obama urged Egypt's military to hand back control to a democratic, civilian government without delay, but stopped short of calling the downfall of Mohamed Morsi a coup.

Obama said on Wednesday he was "deeply concerned" by the military's move to topple Morsi's government and suspend Egypt's constitution. He said he was ordering the US government to assess what the military's actions meant for US foreign aid to Egypt.

Under US law, the government must suspend foreign aid to any nation whose elected leader is ousted in a coup d'etat. The US provides $1.5bn a year to Egypt in military and economic assistance.

"I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsi and his supporters," Obama said.

Before the army took power, the State Department chided Morsi for not doing enough to respond to protesters, and appealed for calm.

"We believe all sides need to take steps to talk to each other and to lower the level of violence," said spokeswoman Jen Psaki on Wednesday. "We feel there was an absence of significant specific steps in Morsi's statement. He must do more to be truly responsive to the concerns of the Eygptian people."
