Obamas ripped for lavish presidential library plans, featuring ‘test kitchen’, basketball court, etc

You stated it as though no one has room to question it.I showed you others have also questioned it.
Your right, they don’t but that doesn’t stop it.
Might remind the Chicago Tribune. ;)
Please, Mr. Obama, skip the test kitchen, make it a museum

The Obama library is being constructed entirely with donated funds, and will cost the taxpayers nothing at all.

But don't let reality get in the way of your impotent rage.

Did you hallucinate something in that article that I'm not seeing? Nothing it in contradicts anything I've said.

I didn't say that "no one has room to question it". I said that it isn't going to cost the taxpayers a cent - which the OP claimed it would.

Illinois was going to pony up $100 million of their state funds but I don't know what came of that..

Illinois lawmakers squabble over funding for Obama library

Nothing came of it. That article is from 4 years ago.

I see that. Evidently the Trump Administration squashed that idea by increasing the federal requirements for a sustaining endowment. It's all up to the rich liberals now.

Obama has to come up with the money to build it but I believe the National Archives and Records Administration.does spend some federal funds for the upkeep of other Presidential libraries: $67 million in 2015.

Obama Foundation’s daunting task: Raising money for his library

Obama's library will not be part of the NARA network, and will not be kept up by any taxpayer funds.

Now I am confused. Isn't NARA funded by the federal government?

"PLEASE CONTACT BOTH YOUR U.S. SENATORS and ask them to add $22 million to NARA's budget over the House recommendation -- this figure includes $2 million needed to repair the Main Archives building that just this week suffered flood damage; funds to make up the $12 million shortfall reflected in the President's proposed budget; and funds to restore an additional $8 million cut recently agreed to by the House of Representatives."

Historians call on congress to save NARA's funding

NARA is part of the Federal Government. But Obama's library will not be part of NARA.

Presidential Libraries Are a Scam. Could Obama Change That?

*Edit to add: You sure seem to like "old news" about this - that link is 11 years old. Are you having a hard time finding more recent, relevant articles?

Google is working just fine for me - did you perhaps change the settings to only search for old articles?

The Presidential libraries are still federally-maintained though, right?

"Following Roosevelt’s example, thirteen other Presidents have established Presidential Libraries. Congress legislated this policy under the Presidential Libraries Act in 1955 (amended in 1986), establishing a system of privately erected and federally maintained facilities for preserving and making accessible the papers, records, and other historical materials of U.S. Presidents."

NARA & the Presidential Libraries

NARA maintains 13 Presidential libraries - Hoover to Bush II.

They will not be maintaining the Obama library, and they do not maintain the 30 or so libraries for Presidents prior to those mentioned above.

Obamas criticized for lavish library plans, including 'test kitchen'

Someone might want to tell Barry that we aren't talking about his own personal mansion or a combination mansion-YMCA...it's a LIBRARY....and that the American tax dollars won't be going to build this 'monument' to himself.

No American tax dollars go to any of the Presidential libraries and this won't be any different. You are of course just lying again.
To attack Obama again.

I am pretty sure we won't find any record of Easy ever attacking Bush's 500 million presidential library....

Bet there will be actually be BOOKS in there too - Obama reads

:laugh: :laugh2::lmao:

donald-trump-presidential-library.jpg

Obama's library will consist of a copy of Karl Marx's "Das Kapital", Mao's little red book, and some of those porn magazines with the nude pictures him mom posed for.
Obama is a reader, a voracious reader.
Trump is a nonreader. He doesn’t even like to read his intelligence briefs.
Gets his news from Fox and Friends.

That should say something to you about FOX News. They wouldn't lie to you and tell you that he doesn't get intelligence briefings.

Don't worry, President Trump is the most informed person in this country. He finds out about things before they get to FOX news, then trickle down the CNN and MSNBC.
According to people that know him better then your imagination HE DOES NOT read his intelligence briefs, is uninformed, unfit to serve and spends 8-10 hours of TV a day.

But you thinking he’s the “ most informed person in the country” shows me you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Lol, that lie was debunked.

First of all, that page is at least 7 months out of date, because the Obama library will not be part of NARA.

Secondly, I have found zero evidence that Obama is getting any grants from local or state governments to build his library. If you have such evidence, feel free to show it.

From your own citation:
How is a Presidential Library paid for and funded?
A Presidential Library is constructed with private or non-Federal funds donated to non-profit organizations established usually for the express purpose of building a Presidential Library and supporting its programs.

Some Libraries have also received construction and development funding from state and/or local governments.

The Library is then transferred to the Federal government and operated and maintained by NARA through its congressionally appropriated operating budget.

Some staff and programs at Presidential Libraries are paid for with funds from associated private foundations organized to fund the construction of the Library. These private foundations also provide continuing support for Library programs and special events, such as conferences and exhibitions.

They will not be maintaining Obama's library, though.

What's ironic about the Obama Library is that when local community organizers asked that the library pledge to hire a certain percentage of local people to work at the library...Barry said no. Guess he's not "down" with the folks from the South Side so much anymore now that he doesn't need their votes. Just saying...

State and local funds are not taxpayer funds? I could care less. I am just stating there is a chance taxpayer funds will be used to help with its construction.

Unsourced rumors about a bill that appears to never actually been proposed, let alone approved.

Unsurprisingly, that didn't actually happen.

I suggest you go back and re-read whatever Breitbart article you got that from, you missed a few details.

This is just dumb. It is being built on historic park land. That is city tax payer money unless you can prove someone donated that to the city. And it has been more than a rumor. The governor had mentioned they might not have the money in the budget.
Now, I am done. I have no skin in the game, just wanted the idea that there would be no funds from other than private or non profits is not entirely true.
