Obstruction of justice obstructs a process, no matter what the outcome of the process is.
what process was obstructed? this ought to be good.

That's what the investigation is now trying to determine.
So anyone can be investigated for obstruction of justice at any time to determine if obstruction of justice occurred or not.

Usually obstruction of justice charges come as an offshoot of another investigation into wrong doing. Much like Watergate; it was a burglary that was being investigated. Then Nixon started firing people and then you had OOJ.
Note that I was responding to NYcarnineer who said that the investigation is now trying to determine what process was obstructed. Seems to be putting the carriage in front of the horse.

Firing the guy directing the investigation into Trump’s campaign and it’s dealings with Russia to influence (i.e. win) an election does.
The issue of obstruction of justice is so obvious, it is amazing that the rightwingers on this board don't get it.

Definition: the crime or act of willfully interfering with the process of justice and law especially by influencing, threatening, harming, or impeding a witness, potential witness, juror, or judicial or legal officer or by furnishing false information in or otherwise impeding an investigation or legal process ...

Trump tried to impede the investigation into Flynn's Russia connection by asking Comey to backoff. When Comey didn't back off, he fired him. He was trying to influence and impede the investigation and the legal process. His telling Comey he 'hoped' he could let the investigation go and at the same time asking Comey if he wanted to keep his job was a threat. When Comey didn't back off, he fired him.

It's really very obvious to anyone who can think about it in an unbiased way. If your boss 'suggested' you stop doing something and you continued to do it, and then he/she fired you, you would believe you were fired for not doing what the boss wanted, especially if up until that time he/she had nothing but praise for you.

You mean the Flynn investigation that originated because of the Illegally obtained FISA warrant and then involved the multiple unmasking felonies on the part of the Obamaroid Holdovers?

So it was illegal for Trump to exercise his constitutional given authority?

Correct. It is known that no one on the Trump team was allowed any contact with anyone from Russia, or with a Russian last name without prior written approval from Stats & Starkey, PC and that Trump could not make any untrue statement of a material fact or to omit to state a material fact necessary in order to make the statements made, in the light of the circumstances under which they were made, not misleading.

Colluding with Russia has nothing to do with Obstruction of Justice. It's a totally separate issue.

Bill Clinton was impeached for two things, perjury and Obstruction of Justice. That Obstruction of Justice was for a civil case, the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit, that had already been dismissed.

Ruh-roh. The Trump-snowflakes keep telling us it's not possible to commit Obstruction of Justice unless an actual criminal case is in progress. They apparently impeached Bill Clinton for something they now say isn't a crime.

Trump-snowflakes, if Obstruction of Justice requires an actual crime be obstructed, can you explain why the Republicans impeached Bill Clinton for Obstruction of Justice on a civil case that had already been dismissed?

So Trump obstructed justice by not colluding with Russia, right G5000?

What is Crooked Donny guilty of?

Failure to disclose contact with a foreign government
Money laundering
Collusion
Obstruction
Treason

What will Mueller find?

He should find himself fired and prosecuted for leaking confidential information to the WaPost

Question: When Obama issued the order for ICE to lay off of the dreamers, was he exercising prosecutorial discretion, or was he obstructing justice?

investigations of what? First you have to have a crime to investigate. And darling, right now there is no crime. so everyone is walking around like zombies on a Sunday afternoon in a cemetery.

Obviously not. As we keep pointing out, obstruction of justice has nothing to do with committing crimes.

Even you're not this stupid, Frank. You're deliberately trolling and lying here. You're loyal to the Republican/Russian party, not the USA. Fortunately for you, that's not a crime.

Michael Flynn broke the law. You do recall that; right?

Trump just tweeted that he's under criminal investigation. That is, your DearLeader is contradicting you. You better run back to the cult for new instructions.

So why did you Trumptards spend the last week saying the opposite? Oh, that's right, it's because Trumptards are UsefulIdiots, and so proud of it.

Trumptards, Trump will always lie to you, and always keep tossing you under the bus. Everyone else sees that, which accounts for the laughter. Now, go on. Run back to your master, lick his boots, and beg for more lies.

Right, Trump's crime was making fools out of the "He has no path to the White House as of Nov 8 6pm" crowd

MIs-spoke. He’s being investigated for meeting with the Russians. Hence the order to “drop it” by Trump to Comey.

well I haven't heard Mueller declare that. Just a anonymous source that means absolutely nothing to the country. So begging the President's pardon, I haven't heard of any investigation. Trump is merely responding to the WAPO write up. which is fiction without a name.

Anyone want to make a stab at this question?
