Once again, a religious group loses an Obamacare battle in appeals court

Obamacare doesn't force religious groups to pay for abortions.

All the religious group has to do is fill out a form telling the government they do not want to pay for this abortion. So the "abortion-mandate" that the most right-wing elements of this country talk about is actually a "Form-filling mandate".

Anyway, once the federal government reads the form, the government may ask a third party group to pay for the abortion.

The Second Circuit just ruled that a group of nuns who were claiming that filling a form tramples on their constitutional rights do not have a case. The article notes that this is the sixth times that a religious group loses in Appeals Court regarding this issue.

In this thread, I ask you to analyze why religious groups lose so often and easily on this issue.

Their problem is that they actually think their claims are valid, and if they present them in just the right way, the courts will finally see that validity. That's part of the reason the house voted more than 50 times to end healthcare. They just can't accept reality.

'Overturning a 2013 decision by a Brooklyn federal court judge, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals found an accommodation for nonprofit affiliates of the Catholic Church under the Affordable Care Act "relieves, rather than imposes, a substantial burden on plaintiffs' religious exercise."'

Another example of unwarranted opposition to the ACA, where such opposition is partisan, having nothing to do with the merits of the Act.

Because the nuns aren't paying for an abortion and they have no right to force their views on someone else.

They only have the right to follow their own views.

What the court is doing is upholding the right to freedom of religion for women who aren't of the same religion.

People who aren't the same religion as those nuns or any christian extremist have the same rights to their religion and views as everyone else.

I applaud the court for upholding the first amendment.
