Agree. True repentance is a lesson learned, where one looks back on something they did, regret they ever did it, and would never do it again. They implore God for forgiveness for ever committing that act of sin/disobedience in the first place. Since the sin will never be repeated, the past instance(s) it was committed, are then forgiven.They act however they wish, and think that the act of asking forgiveness, even if they are not truly repentant, grants forgiveness. Only true repenrance gains forgiveness.
Wrong-doing can teach us a lesson when we are willing to learn from it. It stems from regret that we even needed the lesson to take in that the "burnt hand" teaches best.
