Yeah, the EU is incredibly wealthy and powerful. European powers can certainly defend themselves at this point. Russia isn't a credible threat at this point. It's not the old Soviet Union. It's significantly weaker and couldn't win a conflict with Western European powers. The same can be said about South Korea. It can defend itself at this point. A 70yr occupation is long enough.
