according to Paul Ryan:

"Air Force → The @USAirForce today is at its smallest size in history. Only half of Air Force combat forces are sufficiently ready for battle, and the average age of aircraft is now 27 years old.

Marines → Over the past decade, the number of fatal accidents or those resulting in the loss of aircraft for the @USMC has more than doubled

Navy → Insufficient training time, lack of resources, and overworked sailors putting in 100-hour work weeks has left the @USNavy “treading water” to keep up with operational demands.

Army → Funding for modernizing the @USArmy has been cut in half over the past 8 years."

no more Weakbama. it's now Trump's turn to lead, and he knows we cant have a weak military in the kind of world we live in, we need to be so strong, so smart, so tough that no one will think of challenging us!

lol, Christ, apparently Trump the non-interventionist thinks our military is too small to not intervene anywhere in the world,

at any time.

Geez, I wish I had a million dollars for every time I've posted somewhere that the GOP scam is always the same -

Cut taxes, make massive increases in defense spending, and then claim that magic will balance the budget.

...same as it ever was...

:bang3:

I could understand if we didn't have the most powerful military the world has ever known. We could do just fine with half what we have now.

I would like to propose a constitutional amendment requiring Congress tosave 1/3 of all tax revenue, most of which comes from the defense budget.

We would still have the greatest military the world has ever known, and would be in a good financial position to expand it if needed.
:dunno:

Depleted ? We spend more on the military since forever , considering we are not in real wartime .

How do they plan to pay for that unnecessary nonsense?

there's no price for freedom. freedom is priceless. PRICELESS!

What's the priceless tag on an aircraft carrier, fully loaded?

Well..................first there is the 90 or so aircraft that you have to pay for.

Then.................the nuclear reactor that powers the ship.

Then.................the actual ship with all the stuff like 2 steam powered catapults, 4 arresting gear wire setups, and then there's all the support equipment like the huffers and the tractors.

Dunno how much all that would cost. BUT, when I was stationed with VFA-131, I got to talking to some of the ships personnel and found out that operating an aircraft carrier in normal conditions costs right about 1 million per day. That includes the payroll for the 6,000 or so people onboard.

Yeah , for all the good those things did when we’ve been fighting Muslims desert and mountain dwellers armed wh makeshift road bombs and pickup trucks wh machine guns .

Trump thinks we need billion dollar fighter jets for dog fights with the Taliban.

We’ve spent more on the military than all of the countries combined but it always never enough for republicans who’ve sold their souls to the military industrial complex.

Obama was a pragmatist and didn’t believe in giving blank checks to the military industrial complex.
Our military was always prepared under Obama.
Trump wants to overspend to compensate for his tiny penis.

By the way...............that million dollar/day normal operating costs for the carrier?

That applies only to that ship. There are several other ships that sail with the carrier as part of their battle group.

800 billion a year and it is "depleted"?

Perhaps it's time to stop paying for Europe's defense budget.

And since it’s nuke powered, the cost is hidden in the dept of energy budget and not the military budget .

Don’t forget to add the $270 bill budget for the VA .!
