This site uses various sources, such as the British census' to show for example, how the arabs grew from 668,258 to 858,708 in only 9 years, which is obviously way, way beyond what birthrates could have provided. This is an increase of almost 30%, and was repeated in later periods when large numbers of arab muslims immigrated en masse to the area.
