It isnt complicated is it ?

A scheme that paid the heating bills of some NHS patients last winter has indicated that those taking part visited their GP less often.

There was also "emerging evidence" that they needed fewer prescriptions and access to out of hours services.

Win win.
i would like to see it extended to people with sick children as well. Kids need to be fit to go to school. Under conservatism they are cold and hungry. Both can be addressed by proper socialist policies.

Well, you're a commie, so yes, you would like the government to pay. :rolleyes-41:

The govt doesnt have any money. I would like to see my taxes support this scheme. Its something a civilised country should do.
It could be the ideal approach to some of the problems Tommy, but I think it's going to meet with huge opposition for being ahead of it's time.

As the situation deteriorates, the possibility for progressive social changes will naturally increase out of necessity.

No hare though in introducing the idea to this forum!

the lefts war on fossil fuels has caused home energy prices to skyrocket ... skyrocket in the US and in Europe ... not surprising many are having trouble paying the electric bill . saying that however i have no problem with helping the sick hungry and poor .

It is akin to the profits governments in Canada make off of cigarettes and alcohol (and other products now). The cost the taxpayer way more over time when health issues arise.

You are right, the government doesn't have any money to pay for this. Life just isn't fair, and nobody said it would be.
It sounds like good economic sense. A few quid to pay for heating against the cost of a pneumonia patient on a drip for weeks in hospital. What does a week in hospital cost in your whizzy health system ?

Your opposition is just ideological because people will be helped.

No. Its Ukraine and a failure to invest in renewables. Plus profiteering by conservative donors.

That's probably true, but there's no alternative solution to the legal drugs problem. At least Canada is attempting to deal with the issues on tobacco and alcohol.

America's lack of any solution has proven to be the worst approach to the problem that is possible.

I think they would see folk eating road kill before they accept modern thinking.

Sick people are profitable in the US. No changes needed.

Would I have had accountability for abuses and civil right lawyers taking my case on my behalf? If so, Americas system is superior. Nothing beats liberty.

That has to be true and it has to be the main driving force that holds back an acceptable health care system.

They are captive to huge payoffs by big insurance companies and their D party can't ever find a way out of it.

In fact, that amounts to them really only having one political party.

Conservatism = pay your bills? its not why there are people who are cold and hungry, you're making an over simplification over complex things. I do know however that the government policy of handing everyone a check here in the U.S....which is a very socialist policy... has made life much more expensive to get by now. All of our money is worth less, and people cant save money any more, they are having to dip into their retirement funds just to get by.
Ha..socialists worried about people being hungry is a joke.. in the end you cause wide spread poverty.

No, it's not ideological, it....the government doesn't have the money.
Do you keep borrowing money that doesn't get paid back?
