You could end the illegal immigration problem in a few weeks.

1) Establish a 1-800 line for employees to rat out their employers for hiring illegals. If they give a valid tip, they get a reward.

2) First violation - you pay a $10,000 fine, and are subject to monthly inspections for the next year.

3) Second violation- you pay a $100,000 fine, and must display a sign in your front office explaining what you did. "I hired illegal aliens, cheating an American out of a good paying job. Please consider my lack of integrity when doing business with me."

4) Third Violation- Government shuts down your doors, auctions off all your assets.

Once the employers figure out that the government means business on this, they'll purge their own floors of illegals.

The reality is, niether party really wants to end illegal immigration.
