No doubt about it, the GOP looks like crap right now. IMHO they should create a bi-partisan commission to come up with a plan for HCI, give 'em 6 months to come up with something and vote on whatever the result is without debate or amendments.

This is 98% of what the GOP is doing right now, having to defend president Trump, and they are using the most circular argument I have yet encountered. After 8 years of just whining about Obama and generally trying to get in the way of everything it seems they were entirely unprepared to actually have to govern. Some of them have been there for years just voting along with their caucus, signing on to symbolic Obamacare repeals and bitching and never really had to accomplish anything of consequence. Now that they have no excuse for inaction it is literally all they know how to do.
