When people start to whine about Reagan's economy I remind them:
The national debt went up:
$1.872 Trillion during Reagan's 8 year GDP grew $2.5Trillion
$1.540 Trillion during Clinton's 8 year " " $3.5Trillion
$6.200 Trillion during Bush's 8 year $4.1Trillion
$6.061 Trillion during Obama's 5 year $2.3Trillion
Considering that Reagan rebuilt our military from the dangerous lows of Carter's term. The plain economics of the situation between 1981 to 2014 is that the GDP continues to grow and the worst thing that happened over all was the housing crash which occurred because of inflationary price to value starting in 1999 culminating in the crash and the recession.
