Predictions

Not awarding Trump the nomination? It's what started our discussion. You said i'm in "serious denial" because I think a guy who isn't getting more than a third of the Republican vote consistently and turns off the other 2/3 won't win. Yeah, I think he won't win the nomination

Well who the hell do you think is going to win it, kaz? Rubio who is literally afraid to address a conservative audience? Cruz who everyone has suddenly turned into a bigger liar than Hillary Clinton? Maybe you think Carson is poised to make a comeback... or maybe your boy Rand Paul will suddenly jump back in the race to save the day?

I just don't see any scenario where Trump doesn't win at this point. The very thing that propelled Trump to the top from Day 1 has been his strong stand on illegal immigration... that's Rubio's #1 weakness! Have you failed to notice that Trump has not gone after Rubio at all? Rubio hasn't gone after Trump... they both want to be the Top 2... and in that scenario, Trump is going to eat his proverbial lunch.

Not my problem. I got tired of Republican candidates who suck. I voted for HW the first time, then I got fed up and didn't vote for, HW, Dole, W, W, McCain. So I left the party. I voted for Romney, but only because Obama ended the Democrat trend of just running as Marxist and he served as one.

Now, if you come up with a candidate I can get behind, I'll vote for them. Based on that having happened once the last six elections, I'd say it's possible but not likely. I'm happy voting for Libertarians and other third party candidates.

Right now Cruz is a maybe, Rubio is a maybe, Rand was a yes but he's gone. Trump is a no. The others aren't happening so I don't care.

I'm talking about the nomination. I said nothing about the election

I'm talking about the nomination too... you keep switching to talking about who you're going to vote for and who you won't vote for. You said you don't think Trump will win the nomination. I asked you who you thought would win and you said "not my problem" but that doesn't answer the question. I'm not asking you who you can vote for or who you think will win the election.

Thinks this now:

1. Trump 2. Bush 3. Rubio 4. Carson

Or this:

1. Trump 2. Bush/Rubio/Kasich

Nobody here will Ted Cruz now.

He is maybe next preis in 2020 I want's. Maybe stronger about four.

Rubio or Cruz will win the nomination, probably Rubio. Cruz will if he stops screwing up, but that doesn't seem likely.

Cruz is finished in 2016.

Canadian next chanches are about four of up. In 2020.

+ it is Trumps last chanch this World Cup year in ice hockey.

I hope of course on capitalism leader in between 2016-2020.

i believe Trump is on record as having said he will pick an experienced politician. Of course that can change especially with The Donald but it makes some sense.

I think ideally for him it would be an experienced solid conservative -- that addresses 2 concerns -- his experience and his conservative credentials. Who that would be ideally is another question. Some suggest Kasich - and in fact they feel its the only reason he is staying in right now - but Kasich has a BIG problem with the conservative base. Groups like Red State despise him. It will be an interesting pick for sure. Doubt it will be Carl Ichan

Kasich is a real conservative but does not tolerate the nutty TPM.

Fair enough but it is in the eye of the beholder. That being said he cant break double digits in the reddest states and so far has done well (and not all that well at that) in NH where he got a lot of Democrats to vote for him who were torn between him and Bernie Sanders.

The CPAC poll is also interesting. Like them or not that is pretty conservative territory and he came in last behind even Trump who they claimed to have been insulted by when he didn't show up and who a lot of don't even consider to a conservative in the slightest.

So its not to argue the point but just to pint out there are a LOT of people who don't see him that way at all and they tend to be a pretty important part of the GOP coalition

The Trump nuts don't care whether Kasich is conservative or not. They want him to go away.

Hope on Trump, Sanders och Hillary in 2016.

The other are Rubio, Walker, Kasich, Cruz and Huckabee big chance in 2020 if Sanders or Hillary win in 2016 I perhaps this once.

Even this are last chance fror Trump in 2016.

Even Trump are over 70 this year.

Even Sanders are over 74 this year.

Even this are last chance for Sanders this year.

It's going to be Scott Brown. This is a done deal. I know it sounds like a crazy pick but that's who it will be. Forget about Kasich, Christie, Cruz and Rubio... it's going to be Scott Brown.... mark my words.

Trump is clearly demonstrating that he doesn't give two shits about conservative credentials. He has flipped on HB1 visas, he's telling the NYT editorial board "the wall" is up for negotiation, and he skipped CPAC. He's not going to be a conservative and only a handful of really dumb conservative still believe he will be. I don't think he'll be a flaming liberal Socialist, that's the only way I could justify voting for him over the Democrat.

I think the support he is getting is from people who are just fed up with establishment not listening to the base. He's the "scorched earth" candidate. The "nuclear option" as it were. People don't really give a damn if he's not conservative, he's got moxie... and alpha male... he's not capitulating to conservatives or any damn body else.

If Cruz wins, I think his pick will be Marco Rubio.

There were not many 'trump nuts' at CPAC. The vast majority of those that are not voting Trump and are not Trump nuts also do not see Kasich as a conservative either as evidenced by the abysmal numbers he is getting.

Is it still worth pointing out to the OP that his prediction was MASSIVELY off?

Trump lost by over 15 points - not winning by 10 points.
