It's a good thing to try to secure stability for felons after they get out. Lack of stability is what sends them straight back into crime. I personally think other than special circumstances a felony shouldn't hinder your employment opportunities. Do we want these people to become functional or not? Putting a big "DON'T HIRE ME!" sign on their back isn't helping.

I learned the importance of being given a chance when the HR department of my current job called to ask about an assault charge that was put on STET.
I told them about the incident and was hired. That was over 13 years ago.

I’ve since been helping nursing and security with combative people/patients.
