"privately describing some of the claims of election fraud as "crazy,"

Jan. 6 should be seen as a great time in the history of our free country. Trump should be getting a medal for exposing election fraud. This country will cease to exist if people lose faith in our elections. Confidence in this administration is already at a record low. Back to MAGA

Jack Smith's latest DOJ filing is 165 pages and contains new revelations regarding Jan 6. Smith submitted this filing after the Supreme Court's recent ruling regarding presidential immunity.

The description below is from 4 Nov 2020, when a Trump operative named Mike Roman realized that Trump was going to lose the state of Michigan.

Never forget that MAGA Republicans are Nazis and that they will never accept election defeat anymore. --

In a vivid scene from the main vote-counting facility in Detroit on Nov. 4, the memo describes one Trump campaign operative, whose description matches Election Day operations chief Mike Roman, trying to sow confusion and unrest even as he was being told that Biden’s lead was accurate.

When another operative told Roman that a new batch of freshly counted votes that heavily favored Biden were accurate, Roman responded, “find a reason it isnt.” He went on to say, “give me options to file litigation,” even if the count was accurate, prosecutors wrote.

“When the colleague suggested that there was about to be unrest reminiscent of the Brooks Brothers Riot, a violent effort to stop the vote count in Florida after the 2000 presidential election, [Roman] responded, ‘Make them riot’ and ‘Do it!!!’” the filing alleges.

Roman’s Twitter post from the facility that night tracks with Smith’s description: “TRUMP Challengers being ejected from ballot canvassing in Detroit! The Steal is on!!” he wrote, starting his post with two siren emojis.

The whole “filing” is complete nonsense. They are trying to argue Trump has a “criminal state of mind”. In other words they have zero evidence of any actual crime and just want to convict him because of his opinions.

Smith is simply describing what Trump Nazis said and did before and during Jan 6. The evidence is there, such as Mark Roman's idiotic, lying tweets above.

If you are too much of a cry baby to accept it, that's your problem.
None of which is a crime.

Having an opinion isn’t a crime.

Yes, we are allowed to say the election was stolen. It’s our First Amendment right, as well as President Trump’s.

You all just want to throw him in jail for having an opinion you don’t like.

Fake elector scheme, gomer. There is a ton of evidence linking Trump to that. And he will eventually be convicted for this, after he loses in November.

I stopped reading at "Never forget that MAGA Republicans are Nazis and that they will never accept election defeat anymore. --"

Don't be a dumbass pussy OP.

Why do you want to say something that you know isn't true??? It was obvious Mike Roman knew it wasn't true when he sent out his bullshit tweet.

That's a better question.

People are losing faith in our elections because Trump is a no good lying criminal bastard who still won't admit that Biden beat his ass in the election. Guiliani lost his license to practice law because that slimeball parroted Trump's lies in court.

A deranged obsessive zealot produces 163 pages containing 10 pages worth of material
This guy is so over the edge he will off himself if Trump is not hung

And that is precisely why it’s a witch hunt
Charges stemming from “mind reading” about what Trumps state of mind theoretically was. Lunatic persecutor prosecutor

The dirty little secret is that a crooked regime could indict any one of us for "conspiracy"
Only if it had overwhelming evidence that crimes were committed as Smith does.

The defendant asserts that he is immune from prosecution for his criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election because, he claims, it entailed official conduct. Not so. Although the defendant was the incumbent President during the charged conspiracies, his scheme was fundamentally a private one. Working with a team of private co-conspirators, the defendant acted as a candidate when he pursued multiple criminal means to disrupt, through fraud and deceit, the government function by which votes are collected and counted—a function in which the defendant, as President, had no official role. In Trump v. United States, 144 S. Ct. 2312 (2024), the Supreme Court held that presidents are immune from prosecution for certain official conduct—including the defendant’s use of the Justice Department in furtherance of his scheme, as was alleged in the original indictment—and remanded to this Court to determine whether the remaining allegations against the defendant are immunized. The answer to that question is no. This motion provides a comprehensive account of the defendant’s private criminal conduct; sets forth the legal framework created by Trump for resolving immunity claims; applies that framework to establish that none of the defendant’s charged conduct is immunized because it either was unofficial or any presumptive immunity is rebutted; and requests the relief the Government seeks, which is, at bottom, this: that the Court determine that the defendant must stand trial for his private crimes as would any other citizen.

Why are you afraid to read the updated indictment?

The whole “filing” is complete nonsense. They are trying to argue Trump has a “criminal state of mind”.
During a Dec. 21 private lunch, prosecutors say Pence “encouraged” Trump “not to look at the election ‘as a loss — just an intermission.’” Later that day, Trump asked Pence during a private discussion in the Oval Office what they should do, to which Pence said, “After we have exhausted every legal process in the courts and Congress, if we still came up short, [Trump] should ‘take a bow.’”

Trump did not take the advice. On Jan. 1, 2021, Trump attacked Pence during a phone call for filing a brief opposing a lawsuit brought by Trump and his allies seeking to force Pence to help overturn the election, prosecutors say. On the call, Trump told Pence that “hundreds of thousands” of people “are gonna hate your guts” and “people are gonna think you’re stupid,” also calling Pence “too honest,” according to the filing.

Too honest? Yes, too honest to break the law. Too honest to exceed his constitutional authority. Too honest to aid and abet trump's last ditch, illegal scheme to remain in power.

It’s not the opinion, it’s what he tried to do with that opinion.

Namely, trying to overturn the election based on false information.

Smith recognized trump's right to pursue Don's claims by way of court filings. It's when they failed that the trouble began.

As a candidate and a citizen, the Defendant had a right, like every American, to speak publicly about the election and even to claim, falsely, that there had been outcome determinative fraud during the election and that he had won. He was also entitled to formally challenge the results of the election through lawful and appropriate means, such as by seeking recounts or audits of the popular vote in states or filing lawsuits challenging ballots and procedures. Indeed, in many cases, the Defendant did pursue these methods of contesting the election results. His efforts to change the outcome in any state through recounts, audits, or legal challenges were uniformly unsuccessful. 4.

Shortly after election day, the Defendant also pursued unlawful means of discounting legitimate votes and subverting the election results. In so doing, the Defendant perpetrated three criminal conspiracies:

a. A conspiracy to defraud the United States by using dishonesty, fraud, and deceit to impair, obstruct, and defeat the lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted, and certified by the federal government, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371;

b. A conspiracy to corruptly obstruct and impede the January 6 congressional proceeding at which the collected results of the presidential election are counted and certified ("the certification proceeding"), in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1512(k); and

c. A conspiracy against the right to vote and to have one's vote counted, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 241.

"Startling revelations"? Foolish attempt at drama from WAPO. The dirty little secret is that a crooked regime could indict any one of us for "conspiracy" if we disagreed with them politically. The sad thing is that the mainstream media that we should trust to tell the truth has become the willing stooge of the democrat party.
Harvard Law Professor Spots 2 'Jaw-Dropping' Details In New Trump Filing

Harvard constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe described having not one but multiple “wow” moments when reading a newly-unsealed court filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s office which offers evidence of Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss.

“I said, ‘Wow,’ about 25 times in a quick reading of this document,” Tribe told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Wednesday.

“I bet there are another 25 that I will encounter,” he added.

Tribe said there are “lots of jaw-dropping things” in the filing.

Such as Trump’s “so what?” response to the news that his vice president, Mike Pence, had been rushed from the Senate during the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021 and Trump’s comment to relatives that, “It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election, you still have to fight like hell.”

“That’s just a sampling. It’s the tip of a horribly large and scary iceberg,” said Tribe.

Earlier in the interview, Tribe said the filing presented a “mountain of evidence” which was “overwhelming” and that Smith “has the goods, he has the receipts.”

I hadn't seen that before.

Special counsel Jack Smith has outlined new details of former President Donald Trump and his allies' sweeping and "increasingly desperate" efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, in a blockbuster court filing Wednesday aimed at defending Smith's prosecution of Trump following the Supreme Court's July immunity ruling.

Trump intentionally lied to the public, state election officials, and his own vice president in an effort to cling to power after losing the election, while privately describing some of the claims of election fraud as "crazy," prosecutors alleged in the 165-page filing.

Trump has never believed the election was stolen. He even set up the narrative ahead of the election in case he did lose so he could plant the seed and whip his cult up into a frenzy, which is exactly what happened, probably better than he ever expected. He continues to lie about it because he knows his supporters are dumber than dogshit and programmed to operate however he tells them to. We see it on this board daily.
