If Russia actually did that now, I can see a lot of hand wringing and finger wagging in Washington while they try to find some way to respond to it that won't make them look bad or foul up their self-serving agenda.

There wouldn't be any propaganda whatsoever about that, real or fake, if Trump was President because the response would be swift, terrible, deadly and there is no way in hell Putin would even suggest it, much less threaten it.

Sure would put NATO in a pickle though. Do they come to the aid of the USA as they are pledged to do or do they give up support from the USA if they do not? They would be forced to put their money (and guns) where their mouth is for the first time in a very long time.
