Would this be retroactive? Would we have de-presidentify Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Jackson, etc, etc.

No it doesn't disqualify presidents of the past, unless they are still alive and don't meet the new standards.

Yeah... no.

What we really need to do, is revoke the public vote, and go back to being a republic.

This is a democracy. Democracy means, the law doesn't matter. If 51% of voters want something, that's what they get. So if they want a guy that doesn't meet any of your criteria, then that's what they get.

As long as we are democracy, law doesn't matter. You can drown a girl in your car, and be elected Senator. You can sell missile tech to china, and lie under oath, and buy off witnesses, and still remain president, because "the people want it".

Welcome to Democracy dude. Sucks doesn't it?

Oh yes we do. Here's how you can tell if you live in a Republic, or a Democracy. A Republic, is a representative rule, under the law.

A Democracy is a rule of the people... regardless of law.

Ted Kennedy killed a girl, and it didn't matter. Al Gore was caught using the office of VP, to campaign for funds, and it didn't matter. Clinton was caught multiple times breaking Federal law, and committing felonies, and it didn't matter.

The rule of the people... We want Kennedy, Clinton, and Gore... was above the law. Democracy reigned supreme.

We are most certainly a Democracy. That is exactly what we have become.

But that of course has nothing to do with Presidential eligibility.

A President should also be a good poker player. Also, they should have some experience at planting, maintaining and harvesting a vegetable garden. They should also have a history of hunting and fishing.

Nothing in that list assures you of getting a better President, but it will exclude many who are well qualified to serve
