Rand Paul v. Barrack H. Obama

I'll support Rand Paul if he runs for President. In the meantime, we need to concentrate on replacing the RINOs in November with real conservatives. They are as guilty as the Democrats.

The mainstream GOP is determined to replace all of the TeaPs this spring in the primaries.
Never happen. One of the differences in democrats and Republicans is Republicans can think for themselves and don't just wait for the party to tell them who to vote for. Look at obamacare. Not one Congressman read the bill, they just had Nancy tell them " you have to pass it to see what's in it". All democrats voted for it, not one Republican voted for it. Now it's a mess. They just did like they were told, typical for democrats.

Sorry but not a single one voting for it really is not a good argument against groupthink. That is the same as all voting for it….

Nice symbollic gesture, but you can't sue a sitting President.

OLC: A Sitting President's Amenability to Indictment and Criminal Prosecution
"The indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unconstitutionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned functions.
October 16, 2000"
It's a Civil Suit.

SCOTUS ruled you can sue a President. Paula Jones, remember?

That said, Rand's (hijacked) case will go nowhere.

Funny that conservatives are always changing the rules when someone they don't like sits in the chair.

No that is the Leftytoons.

Not the same at all. Politicians voting on a bill when they have NO IDEA what is in it is more than stupid, it should be a criminal breach of trust. Only an idiot would vote that way.

This country would be just as bad off under Paul as it would be under Clinton...either way we're fucked.

Even if he is neither would be worse than Obama. Right? Please God say I'm right! If America is worse off under Clinton than Obama, I think we can all just go kiss the last of our liberty and economic prosperity goodbye.

Rand Paul v Barack Obama: A prelude to 2016 - CNN.com

About time somebody decided to hold the government responsible.

Glad Paul has the inner fortitude to stand up to corruption in government. Unfortunately, we saw how that sort of courage was rewarded when Joe McCarthy did something similar back in the 50s. He was branded a "kook" and worse.

Anyway, I'd like to see Paul's suit produce some meaningful fruit but Obama's good buds in the Supreme Court and other federal courthouses across the land won't lift a finger to stop the Spy in Chief.

Because...
the government hates our rights and the fact we supposedly have them! (Big Shocker)
Collective gasp of surprise from the audience.

You may be right but it wouldn't be due to any actions by Paul. I just think that it's almost impossible to penetrate the tough skin surrounding the Oligarchy that truly runs this land. Most are nameless and faceless and too powerful for Rand Paul or even a few Rand Pauls to stop. Our best hope is that the power-that-is rot from within and implode upon itself.

The thieving Rand Paul brings the facepalm yet again to his theatrics.

Paul Accused of Plagiarizing Lawsuit Against NSA -- Daily Intelligencer

Poor Rand Paul has been looking forward to suing the Obama administration over NSA surveillance for months, but his announcement on Wednesday was marred by infighting among his legal team, including a charge that's particularly sensitive for Paul. Constitutional lawyer Bruce Fein, who has represented Edward Snowden's father, claims he wrote the complaint but the suit Paul filed lists tea party favorite Ken Cuccinelli as its author.

Mattie Fein, his ex-wife/spokeswoman, told The Washington Post's Dana Milbank that the complaint is "the work product, intellectual property and legal genius of Bruce Fein," adding that Paul, who "already has one plagiarism issue, now has a lawyer who just takes another lawyer’s work product."

Paul is a plaintiff not an attorney, what good would it do for an ophthalmologist to plagiarize the works of a lawyer? Come on be specific.

The only way there could be plagiarism in a lawsuit is if theypleadings quote cases on point, but do not cite the source. DUH!

Not even bothering to read the link. It is patently stupid.

I agree but for different reasons. I am a Socialist and although I love freedom and liberty etc I see it in a different way than a libertarian minded republican like Paul sees it.I do agree it all needs to fall apart and it is slowly.

You told them this when? Just after the Patriot Act was passed?

Because that's when it stated happening.

As soon as it was revealed what the NSA was doing. I also argued against the passage of the original patriot act and it's subsequent reups. You know the ones your dear leader said he wouldn't approve.

They were always doing that.

What part did you miss when it was happening during the Bush administration?

When he lied about getting a warrant first?

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/16/politics/16program.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

Remember that?

Were you part of the Greek Chorus of Conservatives calling the NY Times "treasonous" for running that story?

Remember when Airlines and Telecommunication companies were giving up personal information to the government?

Remember when the Doctors and Librarians refused to do that?

Remember when Bush threw a lawyer in jail because she was communicating with her client?

Or were you sleeping?

Actually that is about the time I came to know folks in my reps offices on a first name basis, a relationship that continues to today, except for Ted Cruz office, I'm still getting to know them. Good riddance to Hutchinson.
