Rasmussen: Obama Approval at 50%

MHO:
The approval numbers are a reflection of the economic recovery.
The far left is disappointed about gitmo, datamining, no single payer, they don't feel he has been strong enough on immigration, gun control, drones, and his not taking a bigger stand on Martin-Zimmerman.

I believe a president always get more credit than really due when the economy is doing well and more blame that is due when the economy is doing poorly. There are much bigger forces at work and a POTUS can only do so much imho.

If the economy contunues to improve - so will Obama's numbers.

True, Obama's numbers have been steady since 1/21/2009....when he began recovering the Economy from the Bush debacle.

You said it idiot: "since we are also considering bushII "

:)

You mentioned Jeb as BushII, Jeb would be BushIII, wouldn't he?
You also took my quote out of context to the discussion on hand. Taking just part of my sentence and twisting from what it was meant to be is no more than as low class tactic used by low IQ posters who can't refute the actual facts. So they move the truth to make some kind of point. You really have gall to call anyone an idiot, fool.
Hence, the 5 red splats you adorn......you've earned them.

I don't think any of you Republicans should be talking about presidential approval ratings. Remember when Bush's was 20-27% consistently for months and months? That guy was depressed.

Try to remember Bush is no longer President and has not been for over four and a half years that seems to be a major challenge for you Democrats and FYI this thread on Obama's approval rating was not started by a Republican.

To suggest that the approval rating of prior presidents is irrelevant is foolish. The past is relevant to the present and the present is relevant to the future. Whatever Obama's approval rating is at this stage in his presidency, and at other stages in his presidency, it is relevant to compare it to the approval ratings of other presidents, including that of GW Bush. It gives us perspective on how the president is doing overall in his presidency, as far as the opinion of the people. Without the perspective of history, we would be living in a vacuumn. Why you make an issue of Bush's approval rating not being relevant can only mean you are so ashamed of his approval rating that you can't bear to have it discussed in relationship to another president's rating.

Looking at past presidents' approval ratings at various times in their presidency and comparing them is relevant. We don't ignore history when we are trying to understand the present and prepare for the future. At least thinking people don't.

Thinking people understand Bushs ratings have nothing to do with Obamas especially four and a half years into the Obama presidency you really need to lose the partisan blinders. By the way rasmussen now has Obama 46 approve 53 disapprove and the RCP average is 44 approve 49 disapprove you may now attempt to deflect by bringing up Bush.

Bush was a chimp for neo con Republicans - and most of those who danced Dubya on their knees are still with us, peddling the same garbage that crashed our economy.

...and Gallup gives these turkeys a 15% approval !!

Thinking, thoughtful, educated people know that all presidential approval ratings are relevant, to each individual president's administration and historically relevant in a comparative way to every other president's approval ratings. Trying to say anything else is simply unintelligent. When we are assessing the effectiveness and success or failure of any one president, the records of all presidents is relevant. Has nothing whatsoever to do with partisanship.

If Dubya's ratings were higher than Obama's - you'd be subjected to the Hard Right harangue about how relevant prior Presidents' approvals are!!

Too funny!

:)

That would be his disapproval number according to RCP, DBM.

What's to funny is you start this thread get your ass kicked by numbers of the very source you linked and then go running back to Bush like a baby needing their pacifier . FYI I believe Reagan had higher approval ratings than Obama at this point in his second yet I have not brought that up and the only reason I do so now is to highlight your partisan idiocy.
