Redistricting Left To The States By The Supreme Court

The entire foundation of our republic is representation of individual communities.
Where is that stated in the founding document, the Constitution? Representation of states is where the emphasis appears to be, imo.

The whole government save maybe the SCOTUS was designed "to represent the people".
No, the Senate was designed to represent the states. That's why each state got two senators. As a matter of curiosity, show me in the constitution where it deals with representation of 'the people'.

Trump didn't even have a plurality.

So what? The Constitution wisely left the election of the President to the states, not the mob. Lincoln, Wilson and Clinton each won with less than 40% of the popular vote.

It's about time the court realizes every issue is not the federal courts concern. Your thoughts?

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision Thursday that partisan gerrymandering is “beyond the reach of the federal courts” represents a significant win for Illinois Democrats and a second legal blow for advocates of changing the way the state draws its political boundaries.

This isn’t a real court

Poor little commie, don't like living by the standards created by Reid and Biden? Ain't life a bitch, a blue State win it's court battle and you're bitching and crying. LMFAO

It's a moot point really. Two things are currently playing out that will completely change the rules of elections in the future. The first one being the overlooked fact that the population makeup of the country is steadily changing, and it isn't changing towards white and conservative. The second being the electoral college is slowly but surely being phased out in the states, with 15 states already having changed totaling 196 electoral votes, which is 72.6% of the 270 needed to win.

Just another example of how you commies are trying to tear up the Constitution. That little State compact is unconstitutional and the supremes will bitch it if they ever attempt to invoke it.

No, its not.

The states have total and utter control over their electoral process. That is what the constitution states, no matter what the rules of the EC are. If the SCOTUS were to strike the compact down then it would be an activist ruling and wrong.

It is unlikely to come to that though. I don't see them ever getting to the magical 270 number required before it kicks in.
