Back in the 1980s, Donald Trump played the local, and later national media into helping him crate a Brand named Trump.

The Branded Man we now know as Trump should have some thing stamped onto his head (like a Steer). Stamped under that thing he calls hair, because he's always been fierce in insisting he is the one and only "Trump" -- no one else is. I mean he actually sued other people who share his last name (but not his cowardly lineage -- Grandfather's disgraceful rejection from his home country) -- sued them trying to stop them from using their own name.

Donald Trump isnā€™t the only Trump in the world, but that fact apparently came as a surprise to Donald in 1984. Thatā€™s when Trump got a letter from the publisher of Drug Store News welcoming him to the fraternity of chain drug store owners. But Trump hadnā€™t bought Duane Reade or CVS. The letter was intended for a business called the Trump Group, run by South African-born developers Eddie and Jules Trump, which had recently bid for the Pay ā€˜n Save chain.

Donald, to put it mildly, was not pleased. ā€œThe defendants are South Africans whose recent entrance in the New York area utilizing the name ā€˜the Trump Groupā€™ can only be viewed as a poorly veiled attempt at trading on the goodwill, reputation and financial credibility of the plaintiff,ā€ read a lawsuit he quickly filed against the Trump Group. He lost that case but did succeed in having the Trump Groupā€™s trademark revoked in 1988.

That didnā€™t hurt the other Trumps too much. The Real Deal, a New York real estate publication, noted in 2009 that Eddie and Jules, who still use the Trump Group name, have ā€œquietly built an empire on luxury real estate developmentā€ in Florida and other places. Eddie was even placed 35th on a 2013 list of the w

Yep, I remember. I also remember Ernest and Julio Gallo doing the same thing to Joseph Gallo for using his own name on his cheese. Rolls Royce has done the same thing. Try using Taylor Swift on a business even if your own name is Taylor Swift--same thing will happen. Educate yourself moron.
