Sometimes, I think, what is leftover of the GOP simply does not wish to be in a position of having to take responsibility for the mess, it being much more comfortable to blame others than be responsible for it's administration, themselves. This is why that group still coddles and supports Trump's primary run, knowing American will never elect him to actively from a position of power, continue to destroy our constitution, rule of law and the mechanisms that support it.Ironically similar to 2016, Biden won in 2020 because the GOP ran the only person on the planet who could not beat him; if Trump is the GOP candidate in 2024, Biden will win again.
The GOP has several fine governors who have proven paths to victory, with proven records of solid and successful conservative governance. Any of them are more than able to beat Biden. Supporting Trump over these people will only bring disaster -- Joe Biden (or whoever succeeds him) will get to pick the next 2-3 Supreme Court Justices, and the Dems will probably retake the House.
Take more than a few minutes to consider those ramifications.
You may like the guy. He has some valid points. His policy record while in office was reasonably OK. His Judicial / USSC picks have panned out.
But he’ll lose – and if you lose, none of that matters.
Just a word of warning. Time to step away.
Sadly, this will continue the destruction of that party as a viable balancing force in guiding the country in the future.
