Reviewing last month's job report

I wonder if any of the lefty loons ever consider the fact that everyone who wants a job, has a job.

The jobs reports don't mean much now. Oh and for a non booming economy its doing pretty damned good.

The tariff war hurts the economy in some ways but Trump is playing the long game. Hopefully he wins and so does the USA.
Which long game is that?
U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

The one he's playing with China cement head.

It should have been done long ago as China has been screwing us for decades with their unfair trade practices.

Of course you couldn't care less about that. The whole thing just gives you another thing to bitch about.

What a cement head you are.

Without govt subsidies, renewable energy would go nowhere.

Just for fun.....why not give renewable energy the SAME huge government subsidies as the oil and coal industries???

Try again sporty.

"Depletion Allowance ($1 billion subsidy – low estimate is $900 million) The depletion allowance allows companies to treat reserves in the ground as a capitalized asset that may be written down by 15% per year. The government only allows the “subsidy” for independent producers. Integrated oil companies such as Exxon, BP etc. are not allowed the exemption. Companies across the US are allowed a depreciation deduction for taxation purposes. The oil & gas industry should not be an exception"

Debunking Myths About Federal Oil & Gas Subsidies

The "trade war" is a non-event, US consumers can buy other products than China's.

Yes, of course you're "correct".......Lots of washing machines and electronic gadgets are currently being manufactured in Greenland waiting for Trump to give that trade deal a thumb's up..

(how's that orange kool-aid diet going for you?)

My diet is fact-based, not having any snake-oil or bullshit, thank you.
The dems won't have much success criticizing the Trump economy in the 2020 election.
The dems have much bigger problems to deal with,
1. No good presidential candidates
2. No good policies
3. Need mo' money

But they believe it, either because it's what they are instructed to believe, or because they're so heavily invested in Trump that they just can't admit anything else.

Conditions could definitely improve if a couple of things fall our way, but the story they're trying to sell is an abject farce.
.
Maybe, maybe not...But the assertion that it's all because of lack of attentiveness to "green energy" money pits is laughable on its face.
This weakness has nothing to do with green energy.

This is about a middle class that no longer has real spending power. That's why growth is so low despite a low unemployment rate.
.
The lack of spending power is more tied to Fed policy than anything political....They're the ones charged with maintaining that power, and have been an abject failure at it for over a century.

It's the inevitable result of an economy built upon debt and fake money.
the right wing is worse.

I wonder if any of the lefty loons ever consider the fact that everyone who wants a job, has a job.

What most of you Trump cultists will NEVER consider is that the unemployment rate is so low because many folks work TWO jobs just to earn enough for the family to survive..

Nope. If they work two jobs its for gravy money for extras.

You sure are a whiney little cement head lefty loon.

If "ecologica(ly)l-friendly new sources of energy" were profitable enough to necessitate the creation of tens of thousands of jobs, they wouldn't need subsidies and greedy capitalist pig CEOs would have been all over the sector years ago.

Face it, gnat, you're blowing more smoke out your ass than a tire fire.

Derp....

The study includes the negative externalities caused by fossil fuels that society has to pay for, not reflected in their actual costs. In addition to direct transfers of government money to fossil fuel companies, this includes the indirect costs of pollution, such as healthcare costs and climate change adaptation. By including these numbers, the true cost of fossil fuel use to society is reflected.

Hilarious!!

If you ever stumble across a list of those "direct transfers", please, please post it.

I love it when idiots who don't understand accounting (or economics) claim that deducting a typical business expense is a "subsidy".

That's where nearly all the subsidies of all sorts go, Gomer Pyle.

Fact remains that so-called "green energy" isn't economically efficient or viable.

It actually is but the Oil companies don't count a trillion dollar war as a subsidy

Excellent idea. Renewable gets to write off all their expenses, just like oil and coal. Happy?

we need Fusion (an energy with a future).

What Trump supporters seem reluctant to do is to accept the real fact that the economy is considerably slowing down...mostly because of the idiotic Trump trade wars and this administration's refusal to explore ecological-friendly new sources of energy.

Bear in mind that 130K jobs were created in August....but the expectation was for growth of 150K.....

Of those 130K new jobs, we must consider that over 25,000 were temporary government workers to prepare for the 2020 Census count and the growth of manufacturing jobs was dismal, especially in such crucial voting bloc states in the mid west..

The devil is always in the details, as long as you are gaining jobs and fewer people are on dependence, I'd say that's a big win. Keeping up such a torrid pace is tough.

So, I won't disagree with all of your suggestions, but, I will say the net benefit to beating China, above and beyond it being morally just and needed for the Wests survival far outweighs any short term costs. Furthermore, why should the administration explore new sources of energy? If you want to develop a solar panel business or invent a new mousetrap, no one is preventing you from doing so.

.

Then stop driving their electric rates up with more expensive green energy. They will have more discretionary income to spend on Chinese goods.

Unemployment stayed the same rate and is the best in "Merica's" history.

Don't you have Putin's Balls to go back to licking under the table?

It's hilariously ironic that a bloody tRumpkin keeps accusing other people of being Putin lovers.

None of which changes the lack of stand-alone economic viability of fake "green energy", Corky.

And those "subsidies" that hydrocarbon fuel suppliers allegedly get usually end up being tax breaks on capital investments and depreciation that every other industry gets.

DERP.
Of course the point escapes you.
Apparently the fossil fuel industry is not able to "stand alone" either. Clean energy subsidies are tax credits as well.

You are a Putin Lover. Millions of Dollars spent, 23 Investigations, and Trump had nothing to do with Russia. But Clinton and Obama did. Sucks to be you.
