Special counsel Robert Mueller made an unusual request Thursday to keep a Trump campaign-related portion of Paul Manafort’s trial confidential because it uncovered “substantive evidence” relating to the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The alleged crimes were committed ten years before Trump started running for office.
If Mueller had any evidence it would have been leaked to the press over a year ago.

Manafort is on trial for alleged white collar crimes that happened a decade before Trump was ever a candidate for President so it seems highly unlikely this has anything to do with 2016. My guess and this just a guess is that he doesn't want the public to see something that cost his investigation more credibility..

Why keep it a secret? The fact that this it's public knowledge is evidince of an intentional leak. Most of the stuff is leaked to the media anyway. Mueller is beginning to sound more like the Gestapo every day.
