C H A R A C T E R; It's not for Republicans any more.

The denigration of President Obama by Republicans, conservatves and bigots began well before he took the oath of office and continues unabated by unabashed partisans and abject ignoramuses ad nauseam.

It's obvious to anyone of even average intelligence and not willfully ignorant that Romney engaged in some sort of hazing or abusing of a fellow student while Romney was in high school. He claims he does not remember any such incident, yet apologizes for anyone he hurt during his formative years.

I graduated from high school in 1965 and I remember with great clarity events less disturbing than an attack by several on one person. In fact I recall a somewhat silly sort of hazing in which several of us 'teased', actually chased, another classmate when were in the 4th or 5th grade.

Romney is a teflon coated chameleon and unless properly vetted no one can know what he is or will become if elected as the most powerful man on the planet. What we can expect, and what I fear, is that a Romney Administration will be dominated by those who brought us the fiasco in Iraq and cosied up to the social conservatives (the American iteration of the Taliban, IMO).

Even if true, this is a non-story about a harmless prank. Having grown up in the same generation, the thought that the "victim" might have been homosexual would have been totally off the radar screen of the boys doing it. They were making fun of a kid who bleached his hair blonde - absolutely normal stuff for the time.

And keep in mind, the ultimate result of the prank was that the kid would have been forced to get a short haircut - maybe even a crew cut, WHICH WAS FASHIONABLE FOR H.S. BOYS AT THE TIME. This was still before the Beatles introduced (relatively) long hair to the culture, and probably ten years before long hair would have made its way to a prep school such as this one.

This non-story says a lot more about the Non-FOX media than it does about an adolescent Mitt Romney.

Straight up, you're a skid mark.

Its a pretty safe bet that "in the same generation," the homophobic nature OF that mob would have been a shitload more brazen than it would be today, having generations of knuckle dragging support and anti-gay legislation backing up "- absolutely normal stuff for the time."

People (ANY PERSON, MAN WOMAN, OR CHILD) have a right not to be held down by a mob and be forcibly removed from their hair for ANY reason. It is ASSAULT, and today, it would be charged as such. It SHOULD have been charged as such then, but like too many generations that preceded and followed, bullying was ignored, and in some cases that were"- absolutely normal stuff for the time," encouraged by the alleged adults OF "the time."

You are the product of centuries of evolution. For fuck sake, start acting like it.

:wtf:

Yep. Just like the fucking Huffington Post you adore.

NO you fucking liar the Ho po is NOT just a blog

jaysus, shut up.

Why? Arianna Huffington is the editor in chief of the Huffington Post, which is a media group, not a blog, and listed as one of Time Magazine's most influential people in the world for 2011.

When the narrowest of gaps opened in the media business, Arianna Huffington jumped into it headfirst and jacked it wide open.

Personally, I'm tired of seeing legitimate news sources dismissed because they have a leftist perspective. I'm REALLY sick of it happening from people who share that perspective, as if the roar from the knuckle dragging right would somehow be tamed if we didn't bring up publications they disproved of.

pussies.

We don't GET that much ink to begin with, and the active participation in the discreditization of the very avenues that are friendly to progressive causes is the dumbest and most short-sighted thing I've seen from the left.

Not that it's new, but you'd think that by now we'd have grown a set.

She is REALLY pissed at Obama after what he said at the Correspondents Dinner.

The annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner gives the president a chance to turn the tables and roast the reporters tasked with covering the Oval Office day-in and day-out. This year, the president took a playful jab at The Huffington Post, which recently became the first online-only news publication to win a Pulitzer Prize.

“I’d be remiss if I didn’t congratulate The Huffington Post on their Pulitzer Prize,” said President Obama. “You deserve it, Arianna. There’s no one else out there linking to the kinds of hard-hitting journalism that HuffPo is linking to every single day.”

“And you don’t pay them,” added Obama. “That’s a great business model.”

I'm not all that charmed by a few things that have come out of his mouth, and while he's done more than many dem presidents have tried in a long time, and though the right likes to paint him as a socialist (boogity boogah boogah!) he's hardly a progressive's dream date for the national Sadie Hawkins Day Dance. There were serious questions posed in the last election cycle about the legalization of cannabis, for one example, and he blew it off with a throw-away line. Pragmatic? Okay, but not my idea of what I wanted to see. I wanted universal health care, I wanted macroeconomic policies that would invest our resources in the 99% who actually DO stimulate the economy and foster job growth, I wanted him to outright, loudly, and in policy (where it really matters) reject supply-side economics.

I want HIM:

You mean, like the shameful party press fabricating libelous tales of Emo haircuts and publishing them in the party press? That sort of "unabashed partisans and abject ignoramuses ad nauseam?"

It's obvious to anyone of even average intelligence

No one of at least average intelligence supports Barack Obama.

There are two levels of support for the shameful demagogue party, there are the abjectly stupid - the average democrat. These are those who believe "Obama guna payz my rent andz mah gasohlean." The welfare rats and the gubmint employees leeching off of the productive sector.

Then there are the crooks, the looters who cynically use Obama and the demagogue party to raid the public treasury and line their own pockets. These are the George Soros and Warren Buffet types who steal the nation blind to the applause of the moron class of demagogue voters.

and not willfully ignorant that Romney engaged in some sort of hazing or abusing of a fellow student while Romney was in high school.

Anyone with average intelligence can grasp that Obama announcing that gay marriage is a civil right, at the same time that the NAACP declares support whilst the party press fabricates a smear on the opposition, is a cynical ploy by the demagogue party to again create division and hatred among Americans in hopes of polarizing support for your shameful party.

He claims he does not remember any such incident, yet apologizes for anyone he hurt during his formative years.

We know the event was fabricated. as the scum of the DNC are so well known for. democrats have zero integrity and simply fabricate items to attack the opposition. The Little Goebbels of the Washington Post are following in the footsteps of Dan Rather and providing counterfeit evidence in order to libel the hated opposition.

It's what you do.

To believe even a word of what you post would be foolish. You craft your words to attack the opposition, not to communicate facts or ideas.

Romney "bullying" story false

The OP (clevergirl) has really lucked out when she can generate 634 posts for a thread that cites "America's Watchtower," a libertarian website operated by "Steve the electrician," as its one and only source!

I can find equally reliable sources that swear that the world is flat or that the earth is being bombarded by death rays from the planet Mongo (Ming the Merciless)!

No, actually, we don't. What we KNOW is that four eye witnesses say it went down as described. We KNOW that Reversible Mittens claims he doesn't remember the incident (but he KNOWS he doesn't think the guy was gay and he's sorry anyway). That's what we KNOW.

Yes, actually we do.

That you fully approve of the use of fraud to slander the hated opposition doesn't alter the fact that it is fraud.

What we KNOW is that four eye witnesses say it went down as described.

"Eyewitnesses" who didn't happen to be present and only learned of the alleged event a year ago....

We know that the shameful democrats have zero integrity, and when in a position that they cannot run on their record, engage in slander and libel in hopes of smearing the opposition.

Demagoguery is 100% of the platform of your shameful party. It is literally all you have to offer.

Mitt And Me: Romney At Cranbrook -- A Personal Glimpse - Forbes

Really good article. I'm not going to bring part of it here, the whole thing needs to be read in context.

Gee, it's too bad everybody made an erroneous assumption about this article, based on me posting it.

I reject his ideas that "boys will be boys," and that someone who belonged to and led groups in college could in no way be considered an "antisocial bully." The man clearly never met the captain of any cheer leading squad, and he must have been kept out of the loop regarding the damage that letting certain social classes (jocks) to have free reign to "learn their lessons" themselves has had on the children they've inflicted those learning opportunities ON.

But did Romney cut John Lauber’s hair? I have no personal knowledge of the incident; in fact, I can’t even remember John. But when men like Mitt’s classmates, Tom Buford and Matt Friedemann, say publicly that it happened, then it happened. “Kraut,” as we affectionately called Friedemann (note to reporters: pronounce his name with three syllables, the second “e” being the “uh” sound) in those pre-political correctness days, was the prefect on my hall, and very kind to this freshman. I knew Tom, another prefect, too (Big Del’s Algebra II class, maybe?). I’d trust those two any day.

I appreciated that bit of feedback.

As to the rest, I think the man made some good points. Obviously I don't agree right down the line - but he did make some solid ones.
