A spokesman for former President George W. Bush said yesterday that he would not be attending and a spokesman for his former President George H.W. Bush said he would not attend either. Jeb Bush, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination, told CNN earlier this yea rthat he would not attend the convention.
Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican nominee, announced last month he was skipping the convention.

Cruz and Trump were the last two standing,so I guess Cruz is first runner up in the crazy competition.

Abandoning the convention is a big mistake. If Trump is in control with no opposition, he will rewrite the Republican platform, throwing out everything the Republican Party has stood for since Reagan, and putting his own ideas in.
