It is a very delicate balance that America has to do.
The Suez Canal is too important to America and it's citizens. If the Egyptian government closes that off then America's cost of trade goods as well as military strategy would be disastrous to us.

No benefit for anyone in closing the Suez Canal. Doesn't matter who's in charge there. That isn't going to happen.

No benefit to the Egyptians themselves when the newly elected Muslim Brotherhood closed down it's tourist industry either, but they did.
Don't say it will never happen because it can.

Closing the Suez Canal is impractical. The Muslim Brotherhood wouldn't have considered it. No one running Egypt will. Too much cash involved.

All the Muslim Brotherhood cares about is Sharia law, the control over the people and nothing else.

Well, they were democratically elected. And now we support Military Coups. It's just another foreign interventionist mess. Bring the Taxpayer Cash home where it belongs.

Done by fraud, voter buying and corruption, just like here. I think that they learned it well from the U.S.
It really wasn't a Military Coup technically, because the Military turned it over to Beblawi, temporally and got rid of the sharia constitution.
The majority of the Egyptian population wanted this.
In a coup it is usually the minority who does it, not the will of the majority.
Had the Military stayed in control then it would be a Military Coup.
