I said early on that a negotiation should have occurred before all the deaths and Russia took land. I didn't expect Ukraine to fight so valiantly but regardless.

After Ukraine showed the will to fight it seemed reasonable to support them in their plight. Weaken Russias military in the process and defend their land.

After more than two years there is nothing good coming from this and China is lying in wait just hoping it keeps the worlds attention.

A deal should be reached. Create an East/West Germany scenario. By default it will improve Ukraines democracy and civil liberties, just as West Germany was a bastion of freedom while the East showed their ugly colors.

No better advertisement for liberty than those who are no longer part of the West wanting to return. The dichotomy can be presented for the world to see.

You need to be more accurate. Russia is the top importer, but they aren't alone by a long shot. They probably give a slight break on the price but they provide less than 20% of Chinas oil.

Furthermore, the largest increases came from such countries as Brazil, Australia and, guess who? The gold ol US of A.

China would survive without Russia. It is far less likely that the contrary would be true.

In the lead-up to his departure, Antonov spoke with Newsweek about the troubled state of relations between Moscow and Washington, which show no signs of improving as the war in Ukraine continues and NATO doubles down on military support for Kyiv amid recent advances by the Russian military.
'"Project Ukraine' is dragging American politicians only further into an abyss, from which it is increasingly difficult to get out," Antonov told Newsweek. "As we see, the administration can only respond to the victories of Russian troops in Donbas and the failure of the provocation by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region by using the same hackneyed theses about 'support as long as we can.'"
