This is a commerce-culture paranoia 'essay' inspired by Ruthless People.

There's no such thing as a perfect world. Young idealistic college students learn about concepts such as Paradise and Utopia and are then trained to become profiteers for Wall Street. The world watches in envy(!) as Americans watch commerce-related scandals in the news (e.g., Napster, Enron, etc.). Obesity has become a problem in America thanks to consumerism consciousness (e.g., Burger King). As the 'new man' scrambles to capitalize on these vulnerabilities by literally investing in human frailty, pity is an 'ancient thought' (in other words, outdated and outmoded).

What if pity was a governing force of the intellect? Isn't that what Jesus Christ instructed us to consider? However, not everyone is Christian, and religious fundamentalism has bred pitiless wars and terrorism based on political differences (i.e., Israel-Palestine). No one cares if former casino-mogul U.S. President Donald Trump gambled on Wall Street, since he is now the free leader of the world! Just say the word 'pity,' and the first thing that comes to mind is a statement such as, "Pity those who don't keep pace with Wall Street." Western civilization criticizes the fanaticism of Eastern cultures which seem bent on dogma and fundamentalism, yet Americans are guilty of many forms of pitiless bigotry (i.e., racism).

A man walks into a bank and tells the teller he needs to withdraw money as soon as possible, because he knows he needs to change an investment/gamble on Wall Street before an expected crash which would completely bankrupt him, but the impatient and insensitive teller insists that the man 'calm down' and follow procedure, since there's nothing in bureaucratic infrastructure that 'ensures' human-like 'empathy' for those being crushed by the commercial wheel. Yes, without pity, man's modern mania regarding money is conspicuously exposed. Is that why Americans love horror-films (e.g., Friday the 13th)? Have Americans become minions? These are the considerations I will deal with in my new book, The Blue Knight: Democracy. Find it...on Amazon.com this New Year's Day!
