I don't know what these clerics have against Christmas since Jesus is one of the prophet of the Muslims.

Do you think if I met this cleric and suggested that he watch "Miracle on 34th Street," he might change his mind?

A prominent Saudi cleric is being labeled a "Grinch" online for telling Muslims around the world that they shouldn't celebrate Christmas with Christian friends. Mohammad al-Arefe, who espouses the conservative Wahhabi strain of Islam, directed his condemnation of Christmas mainly towards Muslims living in Europe.

"To my people, my sons and daughters in Europe and elsewhere. It is forbidden to attend the celebrations of Christmas and New Year, as they include alcohol, dancing, drunkenness and the mixing of genders," al-Arefe wrote in a post on Facebook, where has nearly 20 million fans on Facebook. As of the publication of this article, the post had been liked more than 60,000 times and been shared almost 6,000 times, but it also drew a backlash from people who accused al-Arefe of trying to stoke tensions between Christians and Muslims, with some saying he belonged to the same "school as ISIS."

His view of HOW it is celebrated is quite clear...

Religion is all about control, they're just controlling people like other religions do. If you're religious, you accept this control.

Saudis=ISIS

wrong-----ISIS = ISLAM----BAATHISM is the nationalist socialist Nazi wing, to
wit the NAZI WING. Even the founders of baathism agreed that Baathism is
CONSISTENT WITH ISLAM -------CONSISTENT WITH THE CONCEPT OF
CALIPHATE which is nothing more than ISLAMIC RULE

The Saudi cleric is correct.

Muslims do not celebrate birthdays; even their own.

Thus, celebrating Jesus birthday is also wrong. .....

for the record "MAWLID AL-NABI" ---the birth day of the prophet (to wit--rapist
pig of mecca) is celebrated by hundreds of millions of muslims but there is some
controversy about it. Birthdays are not a big deal in traditional middle east-----
lots of people simply do not know WHEN IT IS. The reason that islamo Nazi clerics hate Christmas has nothing to do with "not celebrating birthdays"----it relates to hatred of Christianity. They hate easter too. It was a GOOD FRIDAY----
some 45+ years ago that I attended a mosque----with a SHIITE friend who
thought my polite responses to his discussion of the "beauty of islam"-----
signified an "interest"---------I did learn that "EASTER IS A LIE---INVENTED
BY THE ENEMEEEES OF ISLAAAAAM" ----the imam who was the
khutbah jumaat feces flinger that day was a VISITING GENIUS----he spoke
English-------probably because the people there included south east
Asians (???) He spoke with an Arabic accent. The people---lots of little
boys------and their fathers listened to the hate rant like the speaker was
"god himself" I almost vomited

Hmm, Mr. Saleem, maybe the Sultan is also one of the top guys at ISIS. Anyhow, the Sultan owns a big luxury hotel in Beverly Hills. Since this hotel is here in American, I wonder if he has any Christmas decorations put up for the guests to enjoy as well as the hard-working staff..

Oil-rich Brunei has banned public celebrations of Christmas, including sending festive greetings and the wearing of Santa Claus hats.

Muslims seen celebrating Christmas and non-Muslims found to be organising celebrations could face up to five years jail.

However the country's non-Muslims, who comprise 32 per cent of the 420,000 population, can celebrate Christmas in their own communities on the condition that the celebrations are not disclosed to Muslims.

To muslims and Jews christians are idolaters as they pray to a man, the jesus in islam is not the same belief christains have

It is commonly accepted that Islam is not Avodah Zarah (idolatry) since Islam has a clear monotheistic theology with a belief in Allah that parallels our view of "kail" or Hashem. It is even permissible for Jews to enter and pray (Jewish prayer) in a mosque.

Eliyashiv zt"l has ruled on at least two separate occasions, in very clear language, that christianity is avodah zara: A Jew planning a trip to Israel was asked by a christian business associate if he would pray for him in Jerusalem. He wrote a shailah to Rav Eliyashiv to ask if this was permitted. Rav Eliyashiv responded with one sentence: it is prohibited to pray for an idolater. He also ruled that it was forbidden for Mosdos to accept money from the "International Fellowship of christians and Jews" (an organization almost entirely funded by christian churches) under the prohibition of accepting tzedaka from idolaters.

so it is not surprising that islam also wouldn't want to celebrate the holiday of idolaters

yet mecca was the home of 360 idols and came to property from pilgrimages. Without those idols Mecca and Mohammed would never have been ground zero for Islam.

The rituals are the same even if the idols have been removed from inside the kaaba.
