Not going to happen. The American people blame Republicans for the last shut down. And the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that. You’re not going to win the shut down fight. An overwhelming majority of Americans want the Dreamers protected. Trying to put forth the specious argument that Democrats are hurting Americans to protect illegal aliens is an argument you’re not going to win.
And now that McConnell has promised a vote all Schumer has to do is make his original offer and Republicans will be in a position of having to say yes or no. Schumer isn’t as dumb as a lot of people thought he was.
