In the scuffle, U.S. mayors have emerged as key players in the resistance to Trump’s agenda.

“Cities know how important local control is, because we are in touch with the people we represent most closely. This is a president who’s been clear that he wants to centralize as much authority as he can in himself,” Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges said Wednesday. “That is dangerous for our democracy, I believe, and he is using the levers of our democracy to centralize his authority.

That is freaking hilarious coming from a group of people who have worked tirelessly to centralize power in Washington, who reject the U.S. Constitution entirely, and who demand complete compliance and surrender to the federal government.

It is freaking comical to watch progressives pee their pants and suddenly become constitutional conservatives the second they don't like who is sitting in the White House.

No, Betsy. What he is doing is withholding federal benefits to persuade you not to break federal law.

It's only "dangerous" for democrats.

1. CITIES:
If what is going on in cities is affecting the entire nation and the Mayors / governors can not and / or will not resolve the problem the President has every right to step in for the good of the nation.
- CHICAGO VIOLENCE: When the repeated annual record-setting violence rate becomes so high in a city that it begins skewing the NATIONAL averages and the mayor / governor has demonstrated the inability to get it under control, the President should step in.

- SANCTUARY CITIES: If a city, and a state by allowing their city to do so, CHOOSES to violate Federal Law than the President has every right to withhold Federal funding until the city becomes compliant. I do not want my tax dollars supporting a city that has willfully chosen to break the law. Furthermore, as I have opined, I believe if the governor proves he is unable and/or unwilling to get their cities to comply withholding Federal funds to the state should also be an option for consideration.

2. VOTING: Liberals are pissed that Trump is doing something about existing voter fraud, which HAS been proven...especially after attempting to subversively 'flip' Electoral College voters through intimidation and violence? Get a grip.

3. THREAD TITLE: YES, SEALs do Urban Combat Training. NO, SEALs will NOT be used in US cities, as using US military troops in US cities against the population is illegal (against US citizens) and a complete waste of master military experts. The police, Homeland Security, & FBI are more than capable of handling judicial matters. Hell, the EPA, the IRS, etc have been so militarized the last few years THEY could probably handle any problem in the US. :p

You reap what you sow. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama laid out so much precedent for Trump. If Democrats thought long and hard about danger for democracy, they would have paid more attention vs. usurping the Constitution for political expedience and convenience.

You extrapolate 'snatch and grab' simply because the Navy Seals are being trained to quell domestic violence? When Cityscapes are on fire, businesses are being looted, and citizens rights are being trampled, if you care about peace and civility, the last thing you should be concerned with is a Navy Seal dumping a into rioting destructive animal into a paddy wagon
