Second Trump Vaccine Begins Rollout - Moderna

Pfizer is not. Moderna is. Moderna is in basically owned by the tRump administration. Fortunately for them they were able to ride pfizer's research coattails to a vaccine.

Trump has investments in Moderna? Any link to that?
Not the person, the administration.

The facts are Trump has refused to take the lead in the vaccine and left that task to Pence....want to refute those facts or just attack me personally?

You mean the same Pence you on on the left criticized Trump so harshly on for putting him in charge of the Coronavirus team?

Okay, so how is it owned by the Trump administration? He put one guy in charge of it who happened to have investments in the company already.

I’m aware. Don’t think it took anything special to say yes to funding requests for a cure during a pandemic. Other countries did the same thing and we have about a dozen vaccines hitting the market. Don’t stroke Trump too much for something that medical companies worldwide did

Trump is trying to make sure Americans are taken care of first.

What the U.S. did, meanwhile, was commit to buying hundreds of millions of vaccines in advance to ensure Americans were among the first in line if it clinches an emergency-use authorization or approval from the FDA. The Trump administration agreed in July to pay almost $2 billion for 100 million doses, with an option to acquire as many as 500 million more, once that clearance comes.

As part of that agreement, the U.S. gets to decide who gets the vaccine first, and will work with the company on logistical support. While most vaccine front-runners that have been tapped by Warp Speed will distribute their doses through a government partnership with McKesson Corp., Pfizer is handling its own delivery of its products. The company has designed reusable containers that can keep the doses at ultracold temperatures, and is organizing trucks and flights to move them.

Operation Warp Speed is credited with speeding along several other vaccine programs, including one from Moderna Inc.that uses similar technology to Pfizer’s and could produce trial data later this month. The Trump administration’s rapid-vaccine operation, led by the Health and Human Services Department, the Defense Department, and other agencies, could well prove to be the reason many Americans get a vaccine in 2021, even if it’s not made by Pfizer.

Yes, again, Trump nodding yes do whatever you cam to find a vaccine as quickly as possible doesn’t strike me as anything any other leader wouldn’t do. The actual people who did the work are in the medical community and should be getting the credit. But Trump likes to vacuum all that up

Who said they shouldn't get credit? Of course they get credit. It's the private sector that's been coming to the rescue of the federal government since this thing hit. But don't say that Trump had nothing to do with it. Moderna like Pfizer could have sold to anybody in the world. Pfizer wouldn't agree to Trump's terms; Moderna did. So Trump bought hundreds of millions of doses to make sure the American people were taken care of first. That deal will probably save tens of thousands of lives in the US.

The advantage is we will also be able to give out the Moderna vaccine with many more outlets. The Pfizer vaccine has to be kept in 80 degree below zero storage. The Moderna vaccine can be stored in a regular freezer, resulting in drug stores (who are currently seeking help to do this) able to distribute the vaccine to more people quicker.

I didn’t say Trump had nothing to do with it, he green lighted funding. Very tactical and unpredictable move! I mocked the term Trump Vaccine when it was used. That’s it.

Yeah, you said he green lighted it as if he had nothing to do with it and just didn't stop it.

He didn’t give two shits about COVID unless he could milk some attention in the pressers. What has he said about it lately?. What has he done lately?! Besides telling people not to give Joe credit. It’s very telling about the kind of guy he is.

Yeah, the pressers give him so much credit, don't they? He said a lot about it lately. He gave compliments to the private sector for creating a vaccine in a record amount of time. He credited them with their production to help save people in this country. That's telling what kind of guy he is.

Haha, yeah he’s made a huge effort to focus on that hasn’t he?! What percentage of his tweets and public statements have been about COVID vs bitching about a stolen election?

There is little he could do about Covid other than what he did. I don't go to Twitter so I can't count how many tweets he made about it. As for the election, they have a deadline here, so they have to work fast and yes, I'm sure Trump is making a lot of tweets about it trying to gain public support.

Promises made, promises kept. This one has the advantage of long-term storage at refrigerator temperature.

FedEx began shipping the second coronavirus vaccine candidate to earn emergency authorization in the U.S. after Moderna, a Massachusetts-based biotech company, received the authorization for its vaccine candidate from an FDA advisory panel on Thursday.

Employees at a factory in the Memphis area and a facility in Olive Branch, Mississippi were boxing up the vaccine developed by Moderna Inc. and the National Institutes of Health.

A truck left the Mississippi facility Sunday morning with a police escort. The much-needed shots are expected to be given starting Monday, just three days after the Food and Drug Administration authorized their emergency rollout.

And Biden ridiculed President Trump when he said he was pushing for a vaccine for November. Well President Trump did not miss it by much.

Election is over, COVID is an immediate and pressing issue and Trump is silent. He doesn’t know how to lead during a crisis. His only tricks are bragging and attacking. That’s it.

Well, you can thank President Trump when you get that vaccine while other people in the world will be waiting. So what do you want Trump to say that he hasn't said before? What could he be talking about that would change anything?

I’ve given up on wanting or expecting Trump to act appropriately. I’ve written him off. He is a bull blown troll and that’s what he is going to do for the rest of his days. That’s fine as long as he isn’t doing it from the White House anymore

Trump had 2 vaccines developed and more on the way and they're being distributed before the end of the year as he said.

I know, your hero hid in his basement while all this was going on.
