In a bid to prevent and possibly handle terrorism act in airports, the Nigerian Air Force carried out a simulation exercise at Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja. In a statement via its social media page, the air force explained that the exercise which is code named Steel Dome was meant to assess the readiness of the force in the eventuality of a terrorist attack at the airport.

The exercise was carried out on Wednesday, September 7 in collaboration with other forces due to the spate of terrorist attacks in airports globally. The simulation exercise is also expected to be replicated in other international airports in Nigeria.
