Senate negotiators reach a framework on gun legislation...Sen Chris Murphy reacts: More GOPers Engaged In Conversations On Gun Safety Than Ever Before

Because it doesn’t address the threat
Close one door and he will find another

We need to do what we can to keep him from carrying a gun through that door
They have laws on the books already in place for that!

By the way, it does address the threat, it makes it harder for
a person to go through a door that IS LOCKED.

Like anything else, you catch them, you prosecute them

Just because you can’t stop every illegal sale doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stop any
And, we have laws already in place. You just want to double down on an existing law?

I know, I know....do something....anything.

I have to laugh at you

Repubs are trying to thread a dangerous needle. Public sentiment calls for them to agree to something. But they can't agree to too much for fear a consequent decline in gun violence leaves them exposed to being blamed, in part, for the epidemic of gun violence. Meaning, as they always have, they care more about the political consequences of gun control measures than the lives of human beings that could be saved.
After progs legalize pedophilia the single mothers that is in a crisis now will skyrocket. Progs destroyed hetero marriage. A foundation of human history to keep the species going at a cheaper price. And now it's anything goes with personal responsibilities thrown out into the trash. There are reasons for what we see This is one of them. The stresses and pressures on hetero marriages are massive. On single parents even worse.

Because mass killers target more than schools

Movie Theaters, malls, WalMart, Supermarkets, concerts, restaurants, nightclubs……all have been targeted
We have 330+ million people in the United States, and we will always have bad apples. Guns are clearly not the issue .. people are the issue and government continues to ignore this so they can pretend to be making progress by restricting law-abiding citizen rights.

People ARE the issue

Republicans block Background checks so we can’t stop them from getting their weapons of choice

Republicans block Red Flag Laws to take guns away from those who are a danger to themselves and others

Meanwhile....
Over on YT at the Guns & Cowards channel......

More endless whining....still not a single effort to come up with a plan or organize.
1000 posts about what they "should" do, or what we "need" to do blah blah blah...but NEVER what they are GOING to do. Not a chance.
But hey....."A link to my merch" below ((yep, they got their priorities in order don't they?)
Same with that black guys gun channel. All talk...nothing but endless chatter patter.

You were right BL....

Yeah, yeah. We know. You are trying to incite violence. Go away Fed.

How will background checks, outside of what's already mandated, solve problems? How would background checks have solved the last 10 mass shootings?

You're stating that people are the issue, yet, focused on tactical approaches to make gun ownership more tedious, instead of addressing .. the problem.

Republicans have put too many loopholes in Background checks

They need to apply to all sales
Commercial and private

A kid who just turned 18 buying two AR 15s and thousands of rounds of ammo should trigger something.

Why? As a middle aged individual, I purchased two AR15s with thousands of rounds of ammo .. yet .. I pose no threat to society.

Get real .. people, as you stated, are the problem. Not guns .. people and their behavioral and mental health issues. Background check will solve nearly nothing .. and only make it more restrictive for a majority of law abiding citizens. Will Jesus, the leader of a Chicago gang, go through a background check?

For the last 20 years De.ocrats have either blocked or refused to allow gun ban legislation they have been calling for to be brought to the floor for a vote, even when they knew they had the votes to pass it.

I expect this to be the case again.

Even the GOP knows banning AR-15s is a violation of the US Constitution. Unless they have the desire to ammend the Constitution no such ban will make it through the USSC.

They also know there is no way to enforce such a ban going forward unless Garland plans going house to house, like the military clearing Mosul, in a bloody campaign / war against Americans to try to confiscate their guns.

They also know the moment they cast their vote to ban these weapons the only way they get to keep their political appointments / seats is if Democrats promise to steal the necessary elections for them to keep them in office.

Just sayin'...

What loophole did he use to make his purchase?

Today Dems vowed to ignore the US Constitution and case law, pack the SCOTUS if it dares object and get rid of the filibuster in the Senate to cram through unconstitutional gun control.

We have been there before

It will take ten Republicans
Republicans will back away at the last minute over some technicality
There won't even be 9, and McConnell will say it's not his place to twist arms.

About right

McConnell will give lip service that he is supporting a bipartisan effort to do something about mass shootings

In the end, he will make sure that no more than 9 Republicans support it and then blame the Democrats when the legislation fails

McConnell will not be one of the nine Republicans
