it's called The Family Security Act, it's bipartisan, it would lift 3 million children out of poverty, and it doesn't add to the deficit. i'm all for it, and so should you, my friends

Instead of the end of year refund credit it would be paid monthly and then would eliminate welfare programs like AFDC.

Romney is acting like a liberal, and Moonglow just said something SERIOUS? hell is freezing over!

How are they going to pay for it? We currently have Congress debating if they can send 600 or 1200 dollars (one time payment), and some (the Republicans) are saying that we can't afford it.

Now yeah..........................I'm in support of something like this, but again, who's gonna foot the bill?

It is the same as what they get as a tax refund annually except now it will be monthly and they get rid of the child credit on the 1040.

More Leftist crap by the Socialist-Republican from Utah. I’m not interested. It’s my job to support MY kids, and nobody else’s. Just as it’s not anyone else’s job to support my kids.

Is that taking what they would get for a refund at the end of the year, and dividing it by 12? Sorry, but a person earning 24,000/yr would be making out much better than someone earning 100,000/yr. And, if there is equal payments all around, the rich are going to be pissed that the poor are getting too much money.

You have never used the child credit in you refund calculation, never claimed them as a dependent on your taxes for standard deduction??

Not such a great idea as presented. Child and dependant care tax credit will hurt families that are caring for disabled adults, and ending temporary assistance for needy families would damage a crucial safety net program.

Ain't that a hoot that those well off are worried about how much other people get.

I think it is comical. Revenue neutral by eliminating the State and Local Tax deduction. From the plan,

In order to remain deficit-neutral and provide certainty for families, it also eliminates the State and Local
Tax Deduction (SALT), which is an inefficient tax break to upper-income taxpayers

One problem with that, the SALT deduction is already limited to ten grand. The majority of the burden will be placed on middle-class Americans claiming less than ten grand for the SALT deduction. What a crock of shit.
