Shelling of Donetsk. "Russia, take revenge!"

No, they did not. All their "justifications" are bullshit nonsense, just like the US's reasons to invade Iraq and Afghanistan.
You’re uninformed. I don’t understand how you could be, unless you get all your news from establishment sources like Tonto does.

And they have clearly been doing a very good job of helping the Ukrainians defend their country against the Russian invaders.
A "very good job" of boiling the (Russian/nuclear) frog?

“Trying to Avoid World War III”

BY BRAD WOL

"A recent New York Times article stated that President Biden tells his staff, when discussing weapons shipments to Ukraine, that he’s trying to avoid World War III.

"His strategy is to slowly and incrementally ship to Ukraine ever more dangerous and powerful weapons believing if the U.S. shipped all these weapons at once, the Russians would react precipitously.

"Instead, the U.S. is slowly 'boiling the frog' by gradually turning up the heat on Russia."

It could be dumb Joe and the oligarchs who control him are really slowly boiling the American people into a nuclear holocaust, and many Americans are fine with it.

Can’t fix STUPID and Americans are a profoundly stupid people.

Is that a justification for proxy war that just might go nuclear?
As long as this conflict continues, the possibility of an "accidental" nuclear event becomes more and more likely:

Russian Setbacks Are Hampering Army Recruitment, Says Pentagon Official

"KYIV, Ukraine — A powerful Russian missile exploded less than 900 feet from the reactors at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant just after midnight on Monday, Ukrainian officials said, narrowly avoiding a possible nuclear calamity and underscoring the threat posed by the Kremlin’s assaults on critical infrastructure across Ukraine."

So what am I uninformed about then?

What Would a Nuclear War Look Like?

For eight years, NATO has backed puppet rulers in Ukraine, funded attacks on Donbass, repeatedly violated the Minsk Treaties, outlawed the speaking of Russian in the Luhansk and Donetsk Republics, and has destroyed democratic opposition and free media in Ukraine, leaving it a one-party government, essentially owned and financed by the US and administrated by US operatives.

Not much subtlety there.

Yet, somehow, the US has managed to convince the people of the US and other Western countries that Russia is the bad boy, is out of control and must be stopped.

In spite of all the above, Russia remained stoic and sought continually to keep a lid on the situation. It did, however, state firmly that the “red line” would be if Ukraine were to go nuclear, becoming a direct threat to Moscow. That would not be tolerated.

Surely, this was a sober heads-up to any sensible country that the one thing that must not happen would be for Ukraine to go nuclear. After all, once that Pandora’s Box was opened, the last barrier to possible nuclear war would be crossed.

For eight years, Russia had been goaded again and again by the West, yet they did not take the bait. Then, in February of 2022, at the annual Munich Security Conference, the President of Ukraine announced his intent to make Ukraine a nuclear country.

There has been some debate about whether more powerful weapons should have been sent to Ukraine sooner or delivered as the immediate situation demands, but there is no debate about whether Russia should be stopped.

Everyone has heard your bullshit about WWIII, and yet in the US

Roughly 53% of Americans surveyed said they supported the U.S. backing Ukraine "until all Russian forces are withdrawn," Reuters reported.

  • Only about 18% of respondents said they opposed such a move.
  • The support for the American backing of Ukraine was bipartisan, with 66% of Democrats and 51% of Republicans in favor.
  • In addition, 51% of respondents favored sending arms to Ukraine, while 22% opposed it.
  • Most Americans surveyed opposed sending American troops to Ukraine — with only 26% supporting — but 43% supported sending U.S. troops to NATO countries neighboring Ukraine.
  • 58% of the Americans surveyed said they were following Russia's invasion of Ukraine very or somewhat closely.

There are two notable points here. There is strong bipartisan support for continuing military aid to Ukraine, and among those Americans who have an opinion about it by a ratio of 3 to 1 they support continuing to provide military aid to Ukraine. This means that regardless of who wins the midterm elections, the American people will continue to sneer at Putin's ridiculous threats.

A new crime of the ukrainian nazis. The results of the shelling of the market area from NATO guns. Damn you, murderers and their accomplices!
Now, why? Why, oh WHY would Ukraine take military action like this? It's almost as if something dreadful was done to them by Russia at some point in the recent past, but I just can't put my finger on it. Can someone please help us understand what awful thing has befallen Ukraine that it would act out like this?
