The WH / Biden stated it will depend on their actions....

F* that.

The way they acted as Biden half-ass attempted to evacuate US citizens - blocking travel to the airport, beating Anericans, and facilitating the bombing and murder of Americans prove they are still savage terrorists.

Protect & return every American Biden left behind, then we'll talk about it.

I agree with the White House. Definitely no need to be in any hurry to recognize the Taliban government. What could the upside possibly be?

Terrorists overthrew a government and we ain't gonna recognize them as anything except cannon fodder.

Our recognition doesn't really matter if China and/or Russia recognize them. That would give them legitimacy.

It's a done deal.

Xiden just doesn't remember he did it and forgot to tell you.

So it's all OK, liberals. Back to the basement - there might be a virus in your very own living room!

How do you officially recognize a nation that already exists?

Politicians.

Sorry. If I could act on my will, and I'm sure you don't want that, we would lay waste to all territory flying that sick flag of the satan titans. God above help those that stayed behind, but probably mostly journalists looking for a good story, or else incurably inept or brain dead.

Oh we've screwed the actual Afghani freedom fighters by supply their and our enemy with top of the line American weaponry. This president is either a traitor or an imbecile. very likely both.

We should NEVER recognize the Taliban government.

The Taliban haven't enough announced who the members of their new government will be so it's impossible for anyone to recognize them at this point.

Added to which, if Biden gives them recognition now, he gives up leverage to get the Americans and the refugees out.

Then you call the greatest airlift of refugees in world history a "half-ass attempt to evacuate" which show you to be both a liar and an idiot. Something we've known since the first time you posted, Sleazy.

Yes they have.

If the US couldn't even evacuate all of it's own citizens, then the whole airlift is a failure.

Biden has no leverage whatsoever. The Taliban isn't going anywhere, and China or Russia can give them all the legitimacy they need with their own recognition.

It's not legitimacy they need. It's money. Funds from the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund, both of which are located in the USA. Without formal recognition from the USA and other Western governments, the Taliban will have no access to funding, loans or assistance from the IMF, World Bank or UN.

Recognition from China and Russia gets them little. Russia is broke, and they will be just as suspicious of China, who is abusing Muslims within its borders, as they are of any other invading force.

The rest of the Americans are coming home today.

Are you saying every American trying to leave Afghanistan, ALL of the Americans Joe left behind? Today?

You feel like putting money ... or something else ... on that prediction?

Partisan Biden bashers are going to be very disapointed with this.

As passengers — including scores of Canadians, and a handful of U.S. and British citizens — were being checked in for the flight, there was a sense of relief that stood in stark contrast to the desperation and chaos at the airport just over a week ago.

Safi, 42, from Toronto, was among those passing through security and planning to board the waiting Boeing 777.

He said that he had tried to leave during the evacuation but had given up as chaos enveloped the streets outside the airport.

“Things are good,” said Safi, who only identified himself by his first name. “It seems the authorities are keeping their promises.”
