In principle, no reason why not?

The practicability of it is a different matter. Allowing same sex marriage was an easy one as everything involving marriage was already geared towards 2 individuals. But more than 2 in a legal relationship involves a lot of changes to things like inheritance, benefits, taxation. It's a much higher hurdle to overcome for a tiny minority of people.

If you take more than one wife you are forever forbidden to seek .gov assistance of any kind.

If you can afford a extra wife or three then you can afford the kids that are produced.

Why would a bakery not do it since it was pretty popular in bible times. Most all of the great people of the old testament had multiple wives and even more concubines

Couldnt the law only allow marriage between consenting ADULTS? Since underaged girls arent adults.... Im also not sure how the marriage laws prevent the girls from otherwise being exploited. Is it your contention that people who are into polygamy would start exploiting underaged girls if polygamy were legalized but currently arent doing so because polygamy is illegal?

I've always found it suspicious King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines but only THREE kids.
