Should the Democratic Party formally apologize to America for their Jim Crow racial segregation laws

That was the South, not a party.

You know -- the same folks who brought you all those Confederate "monuments". In the same time period. For the same reason.

Those people are all dead now. But as far as giving speeches Mitch Landrieu gave a pretty good one when New Orleans took its "monuments" down out of the public squares.

Which politician would be the best one to give the speech?

Yeah, all the Democrats currently in office who voted for segregation laws should apologize.
Those guys are dead but the ones in office and the entire Democratic Party still regard them very highly.

“Today our country has lost a true American original, my friend and mentor Robert C. Byrd.”
Hillary Clinton.

Good luck waiting for that apology all you'll get is something about a strategy and side switching.
Out of all the Democrats who voted against Civil Rights only one switched to the Republican Party.

Then they should apologize for the Jim Swan era of today where, thanks to affirmative action, so many jobs are closed to whites.

You lie.

Sooooo, why is there a statute of Albert Pike prominently displayed in Washington, D.C? He was a Confederate general and one of the founders of the KKK. Why haven't poverty pimps like the Revrun uh Jesse uh Jackson, Brotha Al Shawwwpton and other members of the black caucus ever raised an objection? Is it because they are members of the freemasonic Boule Society and Albert Pike's book "Morals and Dogma" is considered the bible of Scottish Rite freemasonry? File that under "Things That Make You Go Hmmmmmm?"
