Currently the US is spending about 3.5% of GDP on the military.
Interest on the Debt now exceeds Defense spending.
Should the US spend more on Defense, or on Social and Green initiatives, or on paying down the $35T Debt?
IMHO we need a major revenue increase, say a tax on financial transactions, plus a Remittance Tax on money sent out of the US, plus tariffs, plus....

US will lose future war against China, Russia, says Defense Strategy Commission. Here is report in detail

China will not win against us with their military, and they have no desire to do so.

They are gaining influence all around the world due to their economics, something the US has long ago abandoned and instead focused only on our military while trying to bully the world.

It worked for a while, but not so much any more.

While the US was wasting trillions on wars in the Middle East, China has been building ports in South America and strengthening their ties to countries in our hemisphere.

This does not even take into account what they have done in Africa.

All the while the US has ignored these countries unless we saw some immediate gain.

American's whine about China's growing influence in Panama (one of the most strategically important countries in the world), yet the US could not even bother to appoint an Ambassador to that country for more than 4 years, spanning two administrations.

Russia is a paper tiger that nobody would think twice about is not for their nukes.

So, to answer your question....no we should not be spending even more on our military

We are the major nation enabling China. They exist off of us. We purchase their products built from lower wage employees who were poor before they got that employment. A questionable conservative organization in this nation many decades ago making a statement on our polices stated..."We are funding our demise". Whether liked or not they spoke the truth.

We certainly do need to tax remittances. But an increase in military spending would just go for sex change operations and abortions. Get the militarily house in order first.

Take the 2.4 trillion dollars on welfare, stop paying people to sit on their asses, and use that money for defense. Then maybe more people would join the military since they cant get free money anymore.

$2.4 trillion
The United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars each year on welfare programs1. In fiscal year 2021, the US government spent $2.4 trillion on welfare, including Medicaid and other welfare programs2. State and local governments also spend around $744 billion a year on public welfare programs3.

I voted no. We don't need to spend more money on defense, we need to spend better money on defense. With a President like Trump, we will get far more bang for the bucks instead of wasting money on bullshit like Democrats always do.

The chances of America remaining a super power are increasingly slim. What China has achieved in 30 years, to basically nullify all of the massive lead that America had is astonishing. America had it made and somehow they threw it away.

China focused on toppling the West via tapping into the greed of so many as they know in the end, those same wealthy people will be at the mercy of China, one way or another. They learned the lessons that Russia had learned but didn't perfect.

In what other period in time would an Empire allow a foreign nation to poison their citizens and they not only allow it, but that empire would facilitate it with an open border?

It is truly out of a movie. If you dont get the right people in the U.S government, in the ruling administration, well, "you ain't seen nothing yet".

In 2016 I declared on here that your debt was your greatest national security threat. Here we are 8 years later and it is much worse.

We need to pick our naval classes of ships out better. And stop building them with the technology not there yet on many systems within the ship. The Ford Carrier is still not at 100% and does not have the ability to put F 35's on it yet. The Frigate program is a couple years behind already and it is supposed to not have all of the technologies that will need many years to gestate. The new Destroyer program is behind a couple of years. Meanwhile we are still building the Littoral Combat Ship which is a disaster. We are retiring the first ones built that are a decade old and less and still building these lemons. The Arleigh burke Class Destroyer seems to be one of a few classes of ships with little or no issues that we keep building. The hull is a 40-year-old design though.

Either alone or together, Russia and China don’t have the military to prevail against us and our allies. Both militaries are over-extended jokes. They bear watching, but by maintaining close relationships (hear that Donald) we don’t have much to fear. They’re both trying to bring us down, regardless of what some may say.

You can thank the Rapist Bill Clinton for giving China the technological ability to have a missile hit the United States.
