There were many individual cases of abuse. There was no systemic hostility toward men at that time. Men were not viewed as oppressors or as toxic or trash.

I am a man. and yes, men can be disgusting pigs. Some of my most enjoyable memories from my younger years include at least some disgusting piggery.

Also men are twice as likely to live their wives in sickness then vice versa. That is one of many issues mentioned on the nurses subreddit with the original story.

How can men be so ungrateful? How can any Progressive man not appreciate the effort his Progressive partner put into inflicting maximum psychological suffering on him and just leave her when she needs him the most?
