Should Women be Allowed to Vote?

Should Women be Allowed to Vote?

My wife and three badass daughters would say….”FUCK NO….women shouldn’t have the right to vote, they are genetically emotional, they‘ll vote us down the shitter on emotion.”
I can't believe people in America to this day don't want women to vote.

It's shamefully as an American and a veteran.

Anyone notice the correlation with sharia law?

No abortion. No women voting.

Women can't make it on merit and thus are natural born socialists and socialism is the great evil of the last 100 years. No - they should not be allowed to vote.

Why do you keep appealing to the "USMB forum"? That is odd. Do you speak for them? Are you like a USMB officer or something? Anyhow....

I do like to read. Mostly fantasy. Wheel of Time, Shannara series, Thomas Covenant series...probably my favorite is the Belgariad/Mallorean series. I have read quite a few Jack Reacher books though. You can learn a surprising amount about guns with those books.

I read Battlecry of Freedom by James McPherson and its an outstanding book on the civil war. I highly recommend.

What books do you read?

Will something from the Encyclopedia Britannica suffice?

Southern strategy, in the political history of the United States, a campaign strategy of the Republican Party, actively pursued from the 1960s, that initially sought to increase and preserve support from white voters in the South by subtly endorsing racial segregation, racial discrimination, and the disenfranchisement of Black voters. The strategy has also involved directly promoting conservative views on immigration, taxes, social welfare programs, law enforcement, and states’ rights.

The Southern strategy proved successful. By the late 1970s, the regular political leadership of most Southern states had switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.

Conversely, can you name a credible historical reference that supports your contention that the Southern strategy didn't take place?

There are tons of information out there including the history of the Daughters of the Confederacy, a Movie called "The Birth of a Nation" and much much more.

I doubt if he is aware that MOST of the Confederate Statues were built in the early 20 century and almost all of them were paid for the Daughters of the Confederacy who was created in 1898. Most of them were either small children during the Civil War or were not even born yet.

The books that the DOC promoted were taken into the southern schools and preached an alternate Universe. This was all done by the support of President Woodrow Wilson who even allowed the Birth of a Nation to premier in the Whitehouse.

I know that most MAGA posters on this site were probably alive when laws were passed that allowed women to vote. That's why they would vote for this guy.

Making America great again - when women and minorities knew their place!

BoBo, Noem and MTG are making a strong case for NO!

Certainly all these facts can't stand up to the scrutiny of a cartoon video from Prager U or some opinion blogs from people we have never heard of before.

Actually my contention in post #6 in this thread (Should Women be Allowed to Vote?) was that the vast majority of Democrats voted against the 19th amendment.

In response you blurted out "southern strategy" as if you've been thoroughly brainwashed into spewing that garbage to defend the Democratic party of slavery, Jim Crow and oppression.

Apparently, your vast reading experience did not include the 19th amendment to the U.S. constitution.

Only if the Confederates win or outright steal the next election. They haven't been this close since 1858. If the win happens then I suggest we both learn to skew real history for an alternative one.

I guess I misinterpreted your post a little?

Perhaps I was thrown off by your need to inject...

"...you fucking evil moronic disgusting ignorant Democratic party of slavery supporter."

The final vote tally was:[54]
  • 20 Democrats Yea
  • 17 Democrats Nay
  • 9 Democrats Not voting/abstained
There were 46 Democrats. Greater than 23 would be a "majority of Democrats." 17 voting "Nay" is not a majority, let alone "the vast majority". "Not voting/abstained" can't be counted as "against" but even if it were, calling 26 out of 46 the vast majority is desperate.

You are cherry-picking. The state legislatures in the Democratic "solid south" resoundingly opposed ratification of the 19th amendment.

IRONY DETECTOR OVERLOAD :777:

Well, to answer your question, since women are the majority of the nation, more women are graduating College than men, and women are most often the ones doing family budgeting...a better question to ask is "Why do men get to vote?"
YIKES!!

As a middle aged white guy who is financially secure I haven't ever really had to fight for any rights, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate those that have.

Cherry picking? I squarely refuted what you wrote and now you're just shifting the goalposts.

In fact a minority of Democrats were opposed while a larger minority voted in favor. A majority of Republicans voted in favor. That's all you have to crow about. However, the abuse you aimed candycorn reveals how you really feel.
you fucking evil moronic disgusting ignorant Democratic party of slavery supporter.
