Six simple questions to see how much history you really know. If you don't know the answer make your best guess. Answer all of the questions (no cheating) before looking at the answers.

I got most of them wrong myself, though I got a few right.

And, no, the answers to these questions aren't all "Barack Obama".

Who said it?

1) "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
A. Karl Marx
B. Adolph Hitler
C. Joseph Stalin
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

2) "It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few...... And to replace it with shared responsibility, for shared prosperity."
A. Lenin
B. Mussolini
C. Idi Amin
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

3) "(We).....can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people."
A. Nikita Khruschev
B. Joseph Goebbels
C. Boris Yeltsin
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

4) "We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own ... in order to create this common ground."
A. Mao Tse Tung
B. Hugo Chavez
C. Kim Jong II
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

5) "I certainly think the free-market has failed."
A. Karl Marx
B. Lenin
C. Molotov
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

6) "I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in (the) entire economy that they are being watched."
A. Pinochet
B. Milosevic
C. Saddam Hussein
D. Barack Obama
E. None of the above

(Yawn) I did. Link: 'Marxist' Quotes from Hillary Clinton

Snopes says that Hillary did, in fact, say every statement above. Sorry to disappoint you.

Then they start examining each statement by itself, complaining that she didn't really mean them the way they sounded, they were quoted out of context, etc. etc. The usual defenses thrown up by people caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

And they carefully do not examine the clear pattern that runs through all of the statements: That Hillary believes clearly in wealth transfer, the "failure" of America, government taking over people's personal decisions, and the lie that the govt has the power to do all that.

The statements were all 100% accurate and correctly ascribed. And they show Hillary's socialist mindset - as well as her similarity to other extremist left-wing dictators - to a tee.

Is this a new record?

I posted six questions and suggested that many people would get all six wrong. That would represent a "perfect" score for futility.

But here we have a liberal who, upon reading the six questions, got seven wrong.
Only in liberal America.... :clap2:

In fact it says, "they have all been stripped of any explanatory context, and some of them had portions elided, creating potentially misleading impressions about the nature of those statements".

Not only were the context stripped, but the associations of Marx, Mao, Genghis Khan, Satan et al deliberately insert new context that has nothing to do with the original.

So it's not so much an exercise in "socialism" as it is an exercise in "dishonesty". Which I understand continues to be popular in the Echobubble.

Quit trying to make me support her.

See?

Anybody who believes that Hilary herself even believes what she says deserves an award for stupidity though.

Damn...this stupid claim was shot down over a year again

Think we forgot?

So Conservatives take things completely out of context to spread their lies

I never cease to be amazed at how gullible conservatives are

They believe and piece of nonsense that shows up in their email. It must be true if so many people are sending it around

I think I'll post it on USMB

To me it doesn't matter exactly who said what, leftists are collectivists and believe in the common good. Meaning society is more important than the individual. This is 180 degrees out from our founding and purpose and why the left and right will never agree. One side or the other needs to be defeated.

Our founding fathers created a nation with the words....We the people of the United States, in order to create a more perfect union....

That is a group of people formalizing a society
