Straight to shit. Lets become more like Africa or Mexico!

And you think those 3 things you listed can't be handled on a state level instead of federal level?

That will do fine and the U.S will certainly not become a third world country.

It will only mean a more balanced budget and lower deficit, just think.

No, actually they cannot be "handled on a state level".

Take a look at the states and post which ones are indeed handling it on a state level.

The whole point of being the UNITED States of America is pool our resources have the whole better than the smaller, poorer parts.

There are certain things you can't handle on state level (military, diplomacy, trade with other countries), but things like schools, hospitals, roads etc. can be handled by each state.

It's time for the right wing to stop lying about the taxes,

you are correct!! The more you tax a venture capitalist, for example, the more money he has left to invest in new ventures that create new jobs! In fact, if we taxed them 100% they have even more left over to invest in unlimited new ventures that create unlimited new jobs!! Liberalism is genius!

You increase corporate taxes and then when corporations try to leave you slam the door on them! That'll show them.

yes, liberals practically force corporations to move off shoe to fulfill their fiduciary obligations to shareholders and then chide them for doing what you forced them to do. Liberalism should be made illegal it is so irrational.

The ultimate irony is that the tax cost, like any cost, is passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices. Liberal Marxist fools imagine they are punishing evil corps. with high taxes when really they are punishing their foolish constituency with higher prices!!!

]It's time for the right wing to stop lying about the minimum wage,

you are right!! In fact, the more wages go up the more people get hired!! And, the higher the price of a car the more it sells!! This is why Rolls Royce sells far more cars than VW.[/QUOTE]

Yanno..................Henry Ford was a smart man. He placed the price of his cars at something that was affordable for most of the people.

He also paid his workers that built his cars a living wage, with enough extra so that they could afford to buy his cars.

He said that if they can't afford to buy it, he would go out of business because he couldn't sell his cars (paraphrased).

Silly rabbit again. Henry Ford priced his cars at whatever it took to build them plus profit.

Then he realized that the wages he paid were to low for the workers to be able to afford the cars they build.

See rabbit, unlike you, Henry knew that the economy was based on the consumer spending the money they earned. AND THE MORE THEY EARNED THE MORE THEY WOULD SPEND.

That's why Ford raised wages. To sell cars. Well that and to attract more and better workers. Funny how THAT works eh. Pay better, get better employees. Who'd a thunk that rabbit?

And of course people just like you back them told ole Henry he would ruin his company and ruin things for other business if he increased wages. . But it worked out real well for Henry didn't it.

The five-dollar workday

Time Magazine, January 14, 1935.
Ford was a pioneer of "welfare capitalism", designed to improve the lot of his workers and especially to reduce the heavy turnover that had many departments hiring 300 men per year to fill 100 slots. Efficiency meant hiring and keeping the best workers.[22]

Ford astonished the world in 1914 by offering a $5 per day wage ($120 today), which more than doubled the rate of most of his workers.[23] A Cleveland, Ohio newspaper editorialized that the announcement "shot like a blinding rocket through the dark clouds of the present industrial depression."[24] The move proved extremely profitable; instead of constant turnover of employees, the best mechanics in Detroit flocked to Ford, bringing their human capital and expertise, raising productivity, and lowering training costs.[25][26] Ford announced his $5-per-day program on January 5, 1914, raising the minimum daily pay from $2.34 to $5 for qualifying workers. It also set a new, reduced workweek, although the details vary in different accounts. Ford and Crowther in 1922 described it as six 8-hour days, giving a 48-hour week,[27] while in 1926 they described it as five 8-hour days, giving a 40-hour week.[28] (Apparently the program started with Saturday being a workday and sometime later it was changed to a day off.)

Detroit was already a high-wage city, but competitors were forced to raise wages or lose their best workers.[29] Ford's policy proved, however, that paying people more would enable Ford workers to afford the cars they were producing and be good for the economy. Ford explained the policy as profit-sharing rather than wages.[30] It may have been Couzens who convinced Ford to adopt the $5-day.[31]

The profit-sharing was offered to employees who had worked at the company for six months or more, and, importantly, conducted their lives in a manner of which Ford's "Social Department" approved. They frowned on heavy drinking, gambling, and (what today are called) deadbeat dads. The Social Department used 50 investigators, plus support staff, to maintain employee standards; a large percentage of workers were able to qualify for this "profit-sharing."

Ford's incursion into his employees' private lives was highly controversial, and he soon backed off from the most intrusive aspects. By the time he wrote his 1922 memoir, he spoke of the Social Department and of the private conditions for profit-sharing in the past tense, and admitted that "paternalism has no place in industry. Welfare work that consists in prying into employees' private concerns is out of date. Men need counsel and men need help, often special help; and all this ought to be rendered for decency's sake. But the broad workable plan of investment and participation will do more to solidify industry and strengthen organization than will any social work on the outside. Without changing the principle we have changed the method of payment."[32]

It's idiotic beyond liberalism. Why not hire yourself out as a $1,000,000/hr. consultant presenting evidence to big corporaations that all they gotta do is pay enough and their goods and services will sell like hot cakes to their workers! Its something they would never think of on their own.

Or if you're not cut out to be a consultant why not become a competitor and drive them out of business with your high wage/living wage strategy and make yourself a fortune!!

See................that's the problem with you right wingers. You take a perfectly reasonable idea and take it to a ridiculous extreme.

If minimum wage had kept up with the rise of everyday things like gas, food, clothing and shelter, it would be around 10.50 today.

Poetic parable of the red Amazonian ants
I wonder if many know of this crafty red species
That makes another black one clean up its feces
Bring them food and tend to their babies
They don’t even let them have ladies
The reds don’t work much except to give the orders
The blacks toil in the reds kingdom trapped in their borders
Never knowing they’ve been deceived
I wonder if they’d be relieved
To find out the truth of their plight
How when they were in the egg their was a fight
The reds took their army of mostly black drones
To raid another kingdom’s thrones
The peaceful blacks did fight back
But I think the reds’ venom do they lack
The black kingdom fell and their babies were taken
Only to be slaves the reds keep making
Maybe God wants us all
To keep learning how to make other kingdoms fall
But I think we’ve taught ourselves this quite well
For it does make our egos swell
To know our kingdom is the best
Because it gives no other kingdoms rest
To keep up their defenses they must
No other kingdom can they trust
I wonder if God’s gavel fell
Would all those reds ants go to hell?

what extreme?? the proposal had nothing to do with the minimum wage it had to do with paying a wage sufficient to buy what they made. Got it now??

Increasing the minimum wage to 10.10/hour is a lot different than the absurd point you tried to make at a million dollars/hour.

Try again.

no dear the consultant would make $1 million an hour for teaching corporations that if they paid employees enough to buy the products they produced the corporations could then make huge profits!!
