The government is currently shut down because the dems refuse to give the American people the same waiver they have given 1200 other groups, the entire government and even big business. Anyone here ever think maybe you aren't in the proletariat? The chosen few that don't need to follow the law that the serfs must abide by?

That seems to be the primary focus of the dems but let's move on...

The government is 85% funded right now, the so called essential side of things, fully funded throughout this shutdown. The military is paid, the old people that put us in this mess still get their SS checks and nobody on medicare is being refused. This is our shutdown. 15% of the government is shutdown because they are deemed non-essential. 800,000 people that are expendable are on the table to be cut unless the dems can force 100% of the citizens (not government employees or special groups exempted of course) into their healthcare system.

So the rest of the country along with 800k in worthless government workers get to pay the price for obiecare or the dems are shutting down the government. Are we really missing these 800k government workers? Non-essential in the private work force pretty much means fired. Only the dems would try to make these people represent an entire nation.

If this is the worst that can happen keep the government closed, let the dead weight fall off and then let's really get to work on the cuts.

This shutdown seems like a good first step to me. Let's keep it going.

There's a problem I'm concerned with, though. There are Military Commissaries that rely on government funding to stay open, military families need them to get cheap groceries. But they have closed down due to this shutdown. So, do we care about these families? Are we going to slap them in the face and tell them a political agenda is more important than their sacrifice?

There is such a thing as overdoing it.

I own my own business and pay $30,000 a year plus a $5000.00 deductible. This is very common for someone with a disease.
Something needs to be done and I hope this is the beginning of change.

Hopefully your watching neutral news not just the one sided crap.

Yes the same scammers are going to scam free health care, but most people are wanting something done with the ever rising medical care. Its getting out of control.

The GOP has engineered the biggest cut in government ever. There is no public outcry. We are doing just fine with 85% "essential personnel." There is actually no reason for the GOP to agree to anything. Just keep it like this.

So just trying to figure this out

Only Boehner can resolve this, by bringing an up and down vote in the House.

A majority of the House, representing the American majority, will pass the CR with the ACA in it.

800 thousand workers doing their jobs and you're calling them worthless?
All of them, or does your convoluted mind allow that maybe a few of them are doing something worthwhile?

Mayhap it's not the "workers" wot are worthless - rather the "make-work" and/or "patronage" socalled "jobs" they WERE doing.

Thus speaketh Jake, King of the Unsubstantiated Statement.

The House has taken several votes. The Senate has rejected every single one of them. Boehner will earn his ticket out of there if he knuckles under and pushes the Dem agenda.

Not our call, the gov't's. They are calling them "non essential." If they aren't essential why do we need them? What business hires non essential workers??

How about Harry have an up/down vote for the stack of House bills in his desk drawer?
