Conservatives believe one of the most important Amendments to the Constitution, if not THE most important, is Amendment Two, the right to bear arms.
However, the science-hating right-wingers fail to realize their precious Second Amendment would be useless without science. The thrill conservatives feel about war and the killing of other humans (except the unborn) would be much less gratifying if the only weapons available were rocks, sharp sticks, clubs, or other naturally occurring items and materials. Even in times past, the making of swords, axes, flails, or any other weapon made of metal depended on the scientific knowledge of the era.
The scientific fields of metallurgy, chemistry, physics, psychology, and others are necessary to make the killing of other humans as efficient as possible to please the blood-lust of conservatism.
So, the next time anyone hears a conservative badmouthing science or scientists, people of reason are obliged to point out to the loudmouthed right-winger that he (or she) desperately needs science to fulfill the conservative desire to kill people who do not agree with, or oppose the oppressive goals of U.S. conservatism.
Whether they like it or not, the righties depend heavily on scientists' knowledge and many of their advancements to remain happily ignorant conservatives.
