Stockman slams Reagan & Democrats as well

The corporatists will end up having us work for .27 cents an hour.

this is true, when business and government were combined in the USSR and Red China that is about what people made. When you have capitalism business and government are separate and people get rich like Americas did before the Obamacare liberal corporatism mentality became prevalent.

To readers pondering the Sage of Bela Mounted: If one records the wisdom just above at 33rpm, then plays it backwards at 72rpm - it almost makes sense.

this is true, when business and government were combined in the USSR, Red China, East Germany, for example, that is about what people made:27 cents/hour. Simple enough now?

You're a little late to the dance - er, corporate ball, Ed.

Ever hear of Don Regan, Cap Weinberger, Ed Schulz, or William Simon? These are the fellows that bent Reagan over the sawhorse to keep a smile on his face as he tripled the debt giving money to corporations. Where were you then?

If you were not raising hell about Reagan giving corporations the keys to the US Treasury, why are you upset Obama is doing it?

He's been doing a lot of speaking lately. And though he does slam today's Republicans, he generally defends Reagan.

you should give a listen to the CSpan interview in my OP. I heard it almost 2X because I'm a CSpan junkie.

he said the Gipper could never make up his mind to break a deadlock, when his staff had differing views, so they'd just end their morning meetings abruptly so as to not make him feel awkward.

You people really would do yourselves a favor by giving the interview a listen.

Yeah, Reagan had a hard time with decisions, given his world shaking accomplishments that seems accurate

:cuckoo:

exactly, Reagan was fully able to decide that communism was evil after it had killed 100 million or so while liberals were still making up their minds.

Reagan was sure welfare was a form of slavery while liberals were still hoping it would help people out of poverty rather than deepen their dependency on liberal government.

If Jesus were alive today, He'd be a Reagan supporter. Heck, He probably would have smuggled arms from Iran to the Contras if Ollie would have asked Him.

Calls all politicians basically concierges for Big Business to introduce them to money (PACS & special interests). This thread reinforces the thread about Repubs & Democrats being the same.
He devotes most of his ire to Reagan & co for turning their backs on conservative economics and nominating people like Greenspan & Bernanke (getting into bed w/ the Fed) that eventually leads us to where we are now. He has a special scorn for people like Novak, Laffer, and a few others as doctrinaires & charlatans  .

This week on Q & A, Former Michigan Republican Congressman and Reagan administration budget director David Stockman discusses his new book titled The Great Deformation: The Corruption of Capitalism in America.

Remarkable.

Stockman is becoming a HIPPIE!

all politicians basically concierges for Big Business

The above is the MANTRA of hipdom and it has been that mantra for the last 40 years.

of course as liberals you stupidly ignore that Republican politicians sign the pledge to shrink government exactly so it is too impotent to be worth buying off.
