Cohen didn't necessarily have a recording.....the FBI claims he had one. What's to say the FBI, who has been caught red-handed trying to set Trump up before with Russian Collusion, didn't supply the recording.
I've never heard this recording and anyone with half a brain knows that this so-called recording could be Deep Fake.

There is nothing in the constitution that would disqualify him. If the prison system was willing to make accommodations he might be able to do the job. I know of one governor that ran the state from a cell. Most probably the VP would take over and pardon him. He will never be punished for his crimes and misdeeds at least not in this lifetime. He has too much money and influence

The problem is, short of building Trump his own prison, there is no way a state prison could be modified to serve as a presidential communication center. The first being that all prisoners electronic communications are under mandatory monitoring. Visits are by family (subject to restriction) or their lawyers.

Second I can't find anybody higher than a mayor, to continue to hold office while in prison.
