Supreme Court gives green light to Ohio's voting roll purge

What’s the purpose ?

Would you be good with elimination of someone’s gun license if they are also removed from the voter rolls ?

it takes 6 years from a person not voting for them to be removed from the rolls. This includes a postcard being sent to their registered address, after two years of not voting, and THEN waiting four more years before removing them from the rolls.

it meets the federal requirements. that it was only a 5-4 decision just shows how partisan the progressive justices are.

2 fed cycles . Is it so crazy to think people wouldn’t vote in the last two fed cycles?
That's 3 cycles.

And he is only talking about presidential elections. Technically the federal cycle is two years, not four, due to senate and house elections.

Will this put an end to dead voters?

Supreme Court gives green light to Ohio's voting roll purge

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Ohio is allowed to purge eligible voters from the state’s registration records if they have not cast ballots in a while.

In a 5-4 ruling issued by Justice Samuel Alito, the high court ruled that Ohio’s law to trigger the removal of inactive voters from the state’s registry can be enforced.

State officials argued that the process used by Ohio for more than 20 years is constitutional and legal, and meant to ensure election security.

Civil liberties groups challenged the state’s program for removing thousands of people from voter rolls based on their failure to vote in recent elections, claiming it violated the National Voter Registration Act.

Seems a reasonable law and ruling

It is just amazing how Democrats time and again come down on the side of trying to make it easier to commit voter fraud. Ohio has been purging voter rolls in this manner for some 20 years. Here's how it works: If you have not voted in the preceding two years *and* you do not respond to a prepaid mailer asking you to verify your address *and* don't vote in the next two elections, then and only then is your name purged from the voting rolls. Who in the world can be against that?!

Off topic much?

No it’s not . It’s the comparison of the “constitution loving “ right wings reaction to voter rights vs gun rights .

There's a genuine Constitutional right to firearms, there's no corresponding "right to vote"

You should read past the 2nd amendment. There’s a lot more to the constitution.

There is no voter fraud. Not as in multi voting as cons would let us believe .

All these attempts at attacking voter roles are thinly veiled attempts to suppress legit voters . Which is why courts bust the gop most of the time .
